Best laser for hair with deep roots?

After countless treatments with LightSheer for full body, almost all the hair where I have thin skin/muscle tissue is gone, however where the skin/tissue is thicker and the roots of the follicles are deeper, such as the thighs, it’s not helping much at all, except thinning the hair a little bit. Are there any lasers that can treat deep rooted hair better than LightSheer. I’m a type II skin male.

Thanks.

The problem is likely the TYPE of hair you have, not the machine. Is the hair less coarse on your thighs? For most people, that is the case. If it’s not coarse enough, it doesn’t matter how deep laser penetrates.

it’s less coarse, but about the same as the hair on my arms, which reacted better to lightsheer than my thighs. I’ve been thinking about trying gentlelase.

GentleLASE is most powerful. Even the best settings on LightSheer can’t come close to the highest setting on it. If you can handle high settings, then you can definitely try it. I would just keep your expectations reasonable.

Also, technically, Yag lasers penetrate deepest, but that’s not always great because they also can’t target hair well that’s not very coarse.

do you know what would be a rough equivalency for 37J/20ms for gentlelase? That’s the setting I currently use for lightsheer. I know it’s subjective and the settings don’t really compare, but I want to make sure I don’t get burned and that the setting isn’t lower than what would be effective.

That’s a decent setting on LightSheer. It’s really best to have the clinic test you with GentleLASE. Definitely use the 18mm spot size. The max on that is 20J. You should likely be able to handle 16J and even higher.
