I have light skin, probably type II, and I have done LHR about 10 years ago on my legs, underarms and bikini area with Gentlease. While I’m super happy with the results on the underarms (I have maybe 3-4 hairs growing there now), I do have a lot of regrowth on my legs.
The hair on my legs now is kind of fine and some dark, but most of it is not very dark. Unfortunatwly I have tons of it plus even more of those white invisible hairs.

I’ve tried electrolysis, but I get scarring from it and it is very painful, very time consuming and difficult for the technician because my hair grows in all directions. I had maybe 10 treatments and there is still hair left growing…
So, I was thinking to try laser on my legs again if I can get one of those cheap deals which are even cheaper than electrolysis now…

Which laser do you think will work best for my legs?
Please don’t tell me that it won’t work, please tell me which one has the best chances of working:))
I know that lasers don’t work well on light/fine hair but I’ll be happy if I could achieve at least some reduction.
I’m desperate to get rid of this hair and willing to try anything.
What about the new lightsheer duet, will that work?

I am not going to lie to you. There is no laser that can treat finer hairs. How many electrologists did you try? Many can zip zap along with quiet reserve and “kill” hair. Telltale signs may be nothing after a few minutes to hours to small, very small, pinpoint scabs. These scabs are nothing to freak about. They are normal natural and slough off in a week or two. My clients tolerate hair removal on their legs quite well and undergo several hours of work at time. Inner thighs can be ouch. Are you concerned about your lower legs or are you wanting to do total legs?

I would say that GentleLase is the best on lighter hair, but with white hair it wont work for sure.

Why do you worry about your white and INVISIBLE hair? Nowadays many girls are anxious about their looks more than they should be. They think that they are fat if the have just a little bit fat on their hips, or if they have some white hairs on their arms or legs.

But they dont see that this fat and/or white hairs can be for many people attractive (if it isnt extreme). Everything depends on the whole package I think.

Laser only works on dark coarse growth. You need GOOD electrolysis. Sounds like you had bad electrolysis.

I do realize that laser don’t work on white hair.
I’m not concerned about these invisible hairs, but about those that actually do have some pigment in them.
The reason is that my hair grows very fast and I then have to shave it everyday => stubble.
Waxing takes me 1 hour to do at home. Because my hair doesn’t get easily removed. I have a bad back which hurts like hell after waxing and I’m just tired of doing it. Sorry, I didn’t mean to whine:))

So, any advice on which laser has at least some chance to work?
Since I already tried Gentlease 10 years ago and have so much regrowth I’m a bit wary. Did they improve it at all?

Re electrolysis, I’m not talking just about scabs I mean I get like little ice pick scars. Kind of like after acne, so my legs are covered with these dark dots. Maybe they will go away in a few months, but for now they are still there. Is that normal?
What should I be looking for in electrolysis? Is there a good electrolysis machine? Settings? Needles? What?

Do you happen to know what the settings were on the Gentlelase and how long it took to regrow? At the right settings, you should’ve seen permanent reduction. Gentlelase is one of the best lasers around for skin types I-III.

No, laser doesn’t work on white hair AND on dark hair that is NOT coarse and dense. Don’t waste your money.

No, I don’t remember the settings on the Gentlease that were used on me since it was so long ago.
Which settings would work do you think?

Nothing will work on hair that is not coarse and dense. It doesn’t matter that it’s dark. It needs to be BOTH dark and coarse.
