hi i’d just like to know what a beard retardent cream is? i think its meant to have some sort of hormone or something which slows the hair growth down and causes the regrowth to be finer. is it like creams such as KALO?
The only topical product cleared by FDA for use in hair inhibition is Vaniqa. All over-the-couter products like Kalo have not demonstrated they can work as claimed in published clinical studies. Don’t waste your money on Kalo and those kinds of doubtful products.

but whats a beard retardant cream then?
The concept is that a topical solution can be applied that will slow beard growth. The problem is there is no published clinical data that demonstrates that the concept works. Vaniqa has been tested under controlled conditions, and it works for some people. Nothing else has been subjected to published clinical trials. That means anything claiming to be a beard retardant has not proven it can work as claimed.
