beard reduction

so heres my question, any advice would be appreciated.

i am looking for reduction in my beard. was considering laser hair removal, but it doesnt seem like it is possible to remove the beard without patchiness.

i am considering electrolysis on my beard, but would it be possible to have complete clearence achieved first and then no maintanence. From my understanding as hairs grow in different cycles this would leave the just the hairs that were not growing when electrolysis was had the first time, leaving many fewer hairs, hence reduction. is this correct??

any advice from people who have had success with beard reduction would be extremely helpful.

thanks

You’ll need probably 3 full clearings to get a real reduction of hair. I think it takes that many to get through the hair cycles. I don’t know how old you are, but keep in mind that you may produce new hairs into your 30’s. Good luck!

i’m told the beard is the most stubborn area to treat (next to the genitals). something about blood vessels and hormones making them more stubborn than the average hair.

anyhoo, the concern most people have with removal of facial hair is the temporary scarring that happens … it’s one thing to be able to cover up say, your legs or armpits while they heal, but ya can’t hide yer face (unless you decide to take a vacation).

consider factoring some healing time into your treatments if this is a concern (particularly true of electrolysis).

(p.s., i’ve done every body part below the chin … i JUST started my face. god damn, this area hurts the most).

no, that wouldn’t be possible after just one clearance. not all hairs are killed the first time around even if they’re inthe right phase and that would be 30% of the hair at MOST AND if that’s if you’re cleared in one sitting, which is not possible really. like it’s said above, i would count on at least 3 full clearances to see a real reduction.

Actually, One or two full clearances with electrolysis in the summer would give a noticeable reduction. One would have to do something where they did a full clearance in, say May or June, and possibly again in August or September.

This is possible because more follicles are active in summer than in winter (for people down under, switch the months to coincide with your months that boarder Spring and Fall) People around the Equator could do it almost any time.
