Hi all!
I live in the Atlanta area & am trying to decide on an electrologist for my chin & upper lip. Being that it’s my face I’m very worried about scaring. I really want someone who knows what they’re doing. Has anyone gone to Brenda Tolley? Seems like she has a lot of positive reviews but she’s not certified. The other electrologist is Jill Saffran. Has anyone gone to her or heard any thing about her? She has no reviews, but is certified. So I’m lost! I had read great things about Judi Peters & Goldie Fodor but they’re no longer taking patients:/
Any recommendations of electrologists in Atlanta would be great. And of course any info on Brenda Tolley & Jill Saffran are much needed! Thanks!!
Try both Brenda and Jill. Most electrologists will give a quick free “test” session which will give you some idea of how they work and how it feels. Most importantly, you should not feel like your hairs are being tweezed.
Do not get hung up on the certification part if the skill level is there.
Anyone else? Please!
Hi Ellen,
If you’re still looking for an electrologist, I highly recommend Brenda. I’ve been using her for a little under a month and she’s fantastic. We’re currently working on my jawline/chin, and sideburns. She has an extremely flexible schedule, especially if you’re doing 3+ hour appointments (yay for marathon clearings!). The other week I had to cancel an appointment (I had booked 3 hour appointments for two consecutive days) because of an interview and she worked to make sure my chin was cleared before the interview. She extended my first appointment, took a 45 minute break to work on another client, then let me come back for another hour and a half. If I wasn’t loyal to her before that, her action that day made me a lifelong fan.
My skin has reacted beautifully under her care. My chin and jawline have been cleared. I’m hopeful my sideburns will be cleared this week. I’m nervous about the upper lip but she’s assured me that she has an effective numbing cream. I’m already looking ahead to moving to other areas once my face is completely cleared. Brenda has had to remind me to take it one section of the body at a time.
Her office is just off 285 and is extremely clean. She charges a reasonable $70/hr. Her lighting set up is excellent. She wears magnifying glasses and also puts you under a magnifying lamp. I’ve never felt tugging on the hair during the removal process. Be sure you drink a ton of water the day before and day of your session. Also take ibuprofen an hour before your appointment.
Sorry for the rambling! Good luck on your journey.
Hey. Have any luck? I am above ATL and am looking.
Liz,
Don’t know if you’ll see this. Did you ever find someone in Atlanta?
