Asian male ... Soprano or ND Yag

Hi

I’m a Asian male, not sure skin colour type but you could say similar to Amir Khan the boxer.

Anyway was looking at having laser hair removal on upper body … Chest and abs are hairy while shoulders/back are sporadically hairy.

In my local area there are two places. One provides Nd yag and the other uses Soprano XL. Price difference is marginal.

I’m aware that settings and the practitioner are vital in the end results but all other things being equal, which one am I best going for!? Soprano appealing because of pain free factor?

Nd:Yag is said to be a superior laser than a Suprano XL which is a diode system. But as you know, proper settings on higher range should be used. Discuss with the tech if they’re experienced enough to be comfortable using higher settings appropriately.

“Painless” is not a technical description I would give to any effective system for permanent hair reduction. If the Soprano XL is truly painless, the implication is it is also less effective.

With that said, the efficacy of the system will ultimately come down to your skin type vs. hair type. The diode system gives you a limited window for maximum efficacy, but most Nd:Yag systems don’t have a spot size large enough to take advantage of the advantages of 1064nm laser.

Which Yag system is it? Soprano XL is a very good system.
