I’ve had one session of large volume electrolysis to clear my face (heavy beard) and after 3 weeks some of the scabs turned into those dark red spots that you can see in the picture. I’m afraid this means I will inevitably have pitting. I’ve seen other people with “golf-ball” like chins and I think mine is going to look similar. What do you guys think?
Probably not … but, go carefully on the chin (and upper lip) whatever that means to your electrologist:
Is that last image on the video one that I posted a while ago on this forum?
I don’t think so Marina. These photos were sent by a lovely young woman (from another country) and she specifically gave me permission to use them in a video. If you live in North America or Europe … then, the photo is not you. (I don’t want to say the actual country, to not “identify” the young woman.)
Oh, I see: the marks on the forehead?
If you wish, I will remove this video. I have a ton of photos that I’ve saved randomly so maybe this one might be you?
Let me know and I will take down the entire the video if you wish (that’s the only way I can do this … full delete). Thanks!
Also, those “dark red spots” that you see after 3-weeks are RIGHT on schedule! It’s angiogenesis (with a bit of a downward “healing-pull” and will resolve just fine. I need to do a separate video on angiogenesis … it is part of the lecture series, but I think it’s too damned long for the average person to pick out the information (?) … (I’m still learning this video stuff.)
Still, go easy on the chin, upper lip and upper cheeks …
No worries! I just wanted to know out of curiosity, my face isn’t visible so I don’t care. Those marks went away fortunately.
I have a better picture that I took after I shaved. How long does it usually take for that problem to resolve? You’re right, those marks are a bit downward and that’s why I’m concerned. Also, the shape reminds me of those pitting marks I’ve seen before on people who have had intensive electrolysis on their chin.

Ah … bless you my child! I hated the idea of trashing the video … but would do it if you change your mind. (I’ll be more careful in the future).
If you have another photo of your chin that would be great. Still, you are so early into this that my take is it will be temporary. If you continue to get electrolysis the “orange peel” will likely continue (for the reasons in the video). My own (personal … just me) approach is to thin-out the area and not CLEAR the chin … eventually when the hairs thin-out, then I will clear the chin.
The chin is a tough area for several reasons … not least of all, it’s so easy to work on and electrologists usually get carried away and clear the area (the “Dracula effect”). My take: don’t do it this way. Best Wishes to you and thanks for everything you are doing … for other clients who have the same problems.
Oh … just looked at your new photo and I see what you are concerned about. Classic “orange peel” on the chin. I cannot say with any degree of certainty if this will be lasting … I would only recommend taking this area much more slowly … thin, thin, thin … don’t clear.
One more note: Where you show “orange peel” is exactly the spot where this conditions presents itself. Seldom the center of the chin … but “point zero” exactly where you have this.
I guess that makes you “a CLASSIC?”
