Apogee laser?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been doing laser hair removal with an Apogee laser for several years now (3 to be precise). I was living overseas and would get my treatments about every 4 months. I have fine hair all over my body and have gotten almost everything lasered. My problem is that laser worked really well on my underarms and lower legs. I hardly have any hair regrowth in those areas. Unfortunately, it didnt work all that well on my upper legs or the rest of my body. It didnt work at all on the face other than the sideburn area (but the hair is pretty light to be fair). It also didnt work on my upper back (worked very well on lower). For bikini, id say the hair is 50% less but not gone. My question is, is Apogee a good laser or should I switch to another clinic? I’m of middle eastern decent so I have olive skin and dark hair. I can’t decide if this is as far as I can go with laser or if I’m just being treated by a bad laser? Should I give it more time since now I can actually go in 6-8 weeks like the clinic suggests? Any advice would be much appreciated!

If laser hasn’t worked in three years, how can you continue to be so hopeful that changing up will solve your problem. have you spent a lot of money? We’re you being treated with an alexandrite laser or a yag? Was this an Apogee Elite with a yag option or just an Apogee alexandrite? Apogee is a pretty good laser, but not sure an alexandrite laser is what you need. Have you ever been burned or had hyperpigmentaion spots after any treatments? Electrolysis is your only option for the finer hair left behind. Where do you live now?

Hi dfahey,

I’m not sure what kind it is, all I know is that its Apogee. I will call them tom morning and ask what kind of laser it is and post it on here. And I’m not saying it hasnt worked at all- it has worked well in certain areas and not in others. I’m just wondering if I should stop with the laser bec this is as much clearance as I’m going to get or if it is worth it to switch lasers or stick to a stronger time experience. I don’t think I’m interested in electrolysis for any areas other than my face so if I dont do laser, I’m going to have to just come to terms with the hair. I’m currently in northern va and I’m having trouble finding an electrogist

If your hair is thin or not very dark or even thin and dark, you are not an ideal candidate for laser hair reduction for the areas you are interested in. you can keep trying if you want. Alexandrite lasers are the best, like GentleLAse and an Apogee.

Have you personally gone to as many electrologist offices as possible to get consultations? Go to www.electrology.com and click on ‘Find an Electrologist’ to view Virginia members of THe American Electrology Association. Are you willing to go drive to Frederic, Maryland?
