I have an Apilus Senior that I haven’t used on 6months . I boot it up and RTC??? . comes up and i can’t do anything else
Can someone help me?
the RTC ( Real Time Clock) is an outdated electrical component that has a small battery. The battery has gone flat. The only way to revive it is to replace the RTC chip on the motherboard, something I’m not sure that Dectro does anymore as I dont know if they can still get the component. With that chip dead/ battery flat, unfortunately your apilus is a doorstop. This commonly happens on older seniors and senior II’s.
That is heartbreaking to hear. Atleast you guided me in the right direction. Wish me luck in sourcing the chip. Thank you
The “RTC???” message on your Apilus Senior indicates an issue with the Real-Time Clock (RTC), which is responsible for the device’s internal clock. This can happen if the device hasn’t been used for an extended period, as in your case.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
- Drained RTC Battery :
- Inside the device, there’s a battery that powers the clock and settings. If the device hasn’t been used for 6 months, the battery may have drained.
- Solution : The internal RTC battery may need to be replaced. It’s recommended to contact a service center or repair specialist.
- RTC Settings Reset :
- In some cases, the device may reset the clock settings, requiring them to be set again.
- Solution : Check the device’s manual to see if there’s a procedure for resetting or reconfiguring the RTC.
All helpful replies. Can you contact Dectro International and talk to a technician?
Deedra I’m not sure Dectro is able to help with these anymore, the seniors and senior II’s have been unsupported for a while I thought.
I fixed it. . And it only cost me $250. You are right Dectro does not provide support anymore for these models.
Congratulations! Would you mind sharing where you were able to get the RTC serviced/ replaced in case someone else has this issue since Dectro no longer does it? It may help another electrologist in the future.
