Apilus Platinum

Amazing. In terms of pain, this thing is second to none. I can’t tell you how it will be for permanence, but I got a portion of my extreme lower neck beard done with honestly almost NO pain at all. The electrologist I went to used to use the Apilus senor I believe, and this was light years better as far as the pain goes. I think she was using “Pico Flash”? When will it stop. When is Milli Flash coming out to the market?

These names just “kill” me, too, Chuck, but they also “kill” hair follicles permanently.

Glad you got the opportunity to sample an Apilus Platinum. I worked on my Mother this afternoon, middle upper lip and other facial areas and she was wowing during and after treatment. She said the pinkiness was gone by the time she got home. Sensation is the big difference with the Platinum and I’m not kidding! I have been using mine for a couple months now and it is the same feedback client after client - more comfort and better skin outcome.

Did your electrologist give you a printout denoting the number of insertions performed? Time is printed underneath the insertions. I give a printout of this information to all my clients, so they can see a progression.

I basically have completed a male client’s back and shoulders and now he wants to thin out his chest hair, since the Platinum is so comfortable. I’ve only had a few clients say that they can’t tell the difference between the Sil-Tone VMC I was using and the Platinum, but greater than 95% say there is a real difference and I believe them because they are wanting to go on for more electrolysis in different areas. My clients are thrilled and thankful that I have the Platinum.

As far as time to completion goes, I think I will find that people will still fall in the 9-18 time frame for completion because of hair growth cycles. I have always kept great records on individual client charts and know this aspect well. Tonight, I was amazed by a female client who claims she had laser stimulated hair growth on her face, who had a real mess all over her face and neck for whatever the cause. She got a first clearance after five hours of work and now we have been in maintenance mode for the last couple of sessions. I had not seen her for three weeks and tonight, she was looking so good. We did only half the insertions that were needed three weeks ago. I’m thinking that follicle destruction is pretty complete with this machine, but will have to give it a year to a year and half before I can see some patterns emerge.

If electrolysis can be this tolerable/comfortable, then there would be no need for any oral medication or topical anesthetics prior to treatment. That was convincing enough for me to purchase a Platinum.

Any others care to share their Apilus Platinum experiences? It’s more meaningful to hear from the client side of things rather than from someone like me that gets paid for performing electrolysis, least I be accused of fluffing up the story for my own financial gain. Please come forth and share your experiences with Chuck.

I had the platinum used on me left shoulder, quarter-sized area, ONE SESSION. There’s a picture floating about here somewhere. The level of clearance is easily more than 50% even now, a year after the treatment. And I guarantee you 50% of the follicles were not in anagen. I think that machine is very effective.

Hey Chuck! Did you go back to SS? If so - I’m glad you gave her another try!

One more jump in: Yesterday, I didn’t tell my 81 year old client that I got a new epilator and when we finished her treatment, she said, “I hardly felt it today.” When I told her that I am using the Platinum now, she said I don’t care what it is, it felt wonderful.

I did go back to SS. I’m planning on getting a portion of my lower neck beard done where the hair grows in every which direction and which is the cause of why I can’t shave more than twice a week. I’m glad to have found something that isn’t very painful in my area because I really didn’t have to want to travel somewhere and pay $105 to E3000 or something.

It has been only 72 hours or so since my treatment with the Apilus Platinum and my neck is looking great. There still is some irritation, but it’s really not to bad. Any other epilator and I would be looking like a huge pimple.

I’ll try to update in about 9-10 weeks to see if if there is any permanent reduction. The only other treatment I had in this area cut down the hair 50% so it should be easy to tell if it was effective because we went a little higher up this time.

To check in, sadly I have not been impressed with the results of the Apilus Plantinum. I’ve went to two different electrologists who use it, and I haven’t seen well, any results.

One of the electrologists I went to actually caused the hair to be “cinged” off below the surface. Honestly it felt worse when she was taking them out, than when she was doing the treatment. This electrologist is also renowned to do good work, so maybe it is the machine. I don’t know.

All I can tell you these hairs ALL came back after about 1.5 to 2 weeks. They looked like pepper spots after laser actually, and I would get tweezers and the hair would be all curled up and I could pull part of it up, and sure enough it was still attached.

I got much better results from manual thermolysis. I tried blend thermolysis on the clareblend by 2 different electrologists than my main one and I was impressed so far. It hurt less, and seemed like I was getting the same amount of ends, if not more, and it seems to have worked pretty well for permanency so far. I may just continue to do that. Doesn’t really seem to be a whole lot slower.

The Apilus Platinum is a very powerful machine, and it is also very new. I don’t doubt that it is possible that your people have not yet gotten the hang of the settings.

When correctly used, one would have acceptable treatments with a minimum of sensation, and no cinged hairs. I will agree, that it is VERY EASY to burn off a hair above the bulge area when using a Platinum in a less than optimal way.

I have found that back hairs are usually best removed on a Platinum in Synchro mode.
