Apilus Platinum versus Silhouet Tone VMC ?

I have a VMC that I love. I have read posts about Apilus machines that people love. Can anyone tell me more about the differences?
Thanks
Christina

Having used the Sil-Tone 328 (related to VMC, I believe) I can tell you that one difference was the ease of making epilator settings. In other words, pushing the buttons is easier with the Platinum. (Should I assume you are talking about Platinum or Apilus?)

Dectro in general provides excellent training and phone support…I had absolutely no support with any other epilator I have purchased.

I believe James has used both - he should be able to give you more compare/contrast…

Dee has used both as well. I used the VMC for four years and still own it. I have used the Platinum for three years.

Both epilators are absolute dreams come true for the busy electrologist. One is a 13.56 MHz epilator (the VMC) and one is a 27MHz epilator (the Platinum). Both are tops for comfort issues, but it is my observation that the Platinum has the edge on being better in that regard. The Platinum has three different thermolysis modes to choose from and all are awesome for certain kinds of situations and hair structures. The VMC is much like Apilus’s SX- 500 model as far as 13.56 MHz epilators go. The Apilus Platinum or Pure are a above that, as far as the pecking order goes for electrolysis epilators.

You are using a very good product for your clients. I was very satisfied with my VMC and would probably have stayed with it forever, but I was very curious about the Platiunum and purchased one. I have found that it is all what others were saying about it and more. Yes, the customer support is fabulous. I have had dealings with both Dectro in Quebec and California and I can tell you that the service is superb. Jean-Louis in California is the go to guy for any questions for those that need support. The people at Dectro listen to electrologists and design and improve based on feedback. They have saved the electrology profession, in my opinion, for which I am constantly thankful.

I will echo Dee on this.
Although I would not stress equipment upgrade from a VMC to a Platinum as much as I would from a Kree to a Platinum, one WOULD gain a comfort bump in trading up even in this case. If you can remember the increased amount of comfort you got when you went from your old machine to the VMC, get ready for a similar difference if you go from a VMC to a Platinum.

As always, the cost of the upgrade will be returned in increased treatment time your current clients book, and the new clients you will get as people notice the results you are giving to your current clients, as they will happen fast enough to be noticed.

Sorry to have forgotten that, Dee!

Oh, I don’t expect you to keep track of these things, Barbara. Hope you had a great time at the transgender conference. Saw some references to that on Facebook. I laughed when you commented that it felt good to not be the only tall woman in the room.

Thanks for all the information!
