Does anyone know of an experienced electrologist in Texas who uses the Apilus Platinum machine? Preferably in Central Texas. The woman who I have been going to will be unavailable for 3-5 months. Previously I went to a different electrologist who used a regular Apilus machine. I noticed a big difference particularly in terms of not feeling the hairs being tugged out. The Platinum machine was much smoother.
I’m also wondering if the machine really makes that much of a difference or if perhaps the second person I went to is just better. I live in Austin but I would be willing to drive just about anywhere if the machine really does make a difference.
The woman I went to does have someone taking over for her but I don’t think she has much experience so that’s concerning to me.
Most of the difference is likely due to skill. I wouldn’t rule out other electrologists if they’re good at what they do, even with another Apilus machine or with a different thermolysis device.
If you are in Austin, check out Christina Navarrete. She does good work. I know from personal experience.
I am not sure if she is still at this location, but this is the last Austin Addy I had for her:
International Beauty Center, Inc.
Pond Springs Professional Park
13284 Pond Springs Rd. Suite 304.
Austin, TX 78729
Phone : (512) 250-9911
Cristina is who I have been seeing. I was really happy with her and would recommend her to anyone. Unfortunately she sent me an email yesterday that she will be unable to work for 3-5 months due to something out of her control.
Thanks James,
I have an appointment with her tomorrow. She has a Senior 2 with multiplex.
LA Girl…I tried both of them. The first only wanted to do laser (despite me telling her I tried that and it doesn’t work for me). The 2nd is where I started and I felt like too many hairs were being pulled out or broken off. My experience with Cristina showed me there are better options for me.
Another option is an electrologist LE, nurse in Round Rock, 19 miles from Austin. Excellent technician:
Contact Michelle Weeks at 512-965-0087 for a consultation.
Since Texas is not a state that grants a license, I would be interested to know if Ms. Weeks actually practices in the state her license comes from, and what state that might be.
Turns out she is about 5 minutes from my house but I never would have found her. I have a good comfort level with Maryellen from the conversation I had with her yesterday so I am going to keep my appointment with her today.
I went to see Maryellen on Friday and I would say I have less redness than any of the treatments I have had. Plus I didn’t feel her plucking any hairs. It worked out better than I expected.
I didn’t notice you are from Buffalo. Maryellen told me she is from there and that’s where I was born.
Maryellen may be your ticket. You said you are willing to travel, so if need more ideas, Terry Adams may be worth a looksee. This information is from www.laurasplayground.com :

You gotta be kidding!
Buffalo is in the house!
Then you will get this joke:
The little kids are asked to tell the class what their parents do for a living. When they get to the one kid, he looks down at his feet and mumbles, “My dad works for The Lowly Buffalo Bills.”
This is actually a true story, the kid had heard the team described this way so much, that he actually thought this was the full name of the team! When his dad asked him about it, the kid said, “Why did they name the team that anyway? It should have been The Mighty Buffalo Bills, if they wanted to win”
I am glad you and MaryEllen are such a good fit. Make sure you get a good look around at all of her “pretty pieces of paper” on the walls.
Shame on you LA, eating Buffalo Wings in Buffalo without me. Did you at least go to “The Right Place” to get your Wings?
You are going to make Andrea and I think we have cooties if you keep turning down our meal offers.
It was actually at the airport! I know, awful. But that particular time, I didn’t spend much time in Buffalo. I was in Toronto to visit a friend and see the Niagara Falls, without a car, and we both flew back home from Buffalo.
Next time, I’ll definitely allocate some time for the “right place” and join you for a meal
You, and me at the Anchor Bar. If you stay long enough, we can hit La Nova’s as well, and you can take sides in the never ending Buffalo Chicken Wing debate. (when an Anchor Bar person marries a La Nova’s person, we call it a Mixed Marriage)
