Apilus or Parkside?

Hi,

I am hoping you guys can give me some advice. Last year, I had laser hair removal on my face (I’m female)- big mistake! I went from having fine downy hair to much more noticeable & increased hair growth.

Following that, I tried waxing but had an allergic reaction to the wax, & now see a threading specialist, but can’t stand the regrowth. So am now thinking electrolysis may be the way to go.

Having experienced such awful results with laser (I can’t begin to describe the knock to my self-esteem this has had, not to mention the effect on my social life & work), I am determined to do my research properly (& not just go to a supposedly reputable clinic on harley st).

So far, I have narrowed it down to 2 places in London: Parkside, which a lot of people on here seem to recommend & has BIAE registered electrologists, or a place in Southall which seems to be the only place in London I can find where they use the Apilus machine, which is highly rated. Which of the two would you advise - the place with recommended electrologists or with recommended machinery? I just want it treated as quickly & cost effectively as poss, with no further negative side effects.

Thanks for any advice/suggestions & apologies for the length of the post.

Hi Pumpkin,

Who is the electrologist in Southall? Is it Sara in Harrow?

What Apilus machine is it? I have found that a lot of the electrologist’s in the UK who claim to use an Apilus use the Cleo Blend model and seem to just end up doing the same as any electrologist using regular machines.

Any machine is only good in the right hands.

Personally, I’d take the time to go for consultations at both places and see how you feel about the treatment.

I agree with Stopit, skill is a must, so it would be best to have a treatment at Parkside first, then when you try the other clinic, you will be in a better position to make comparisons. Once you have had a well performed treatment you will be able to make a good assessment of what is best. Wishing you speedy results.

I agree with above. Go for sample treatments at both places and then choose from there.

The electrologist is manroop, I don’t know what apilus machine she uses…

But thanks for the advice all, I will have consultations & sample treatments at both places & take it from there.

It would be fantastic if you could report back in depth about your experiences at both consultations (from equipment to info you’re given and the test patches) and then also later your treatments.

We really don’t have enough up to date information on here in regards to electrolysis in the UK and London, other than Parkside clients.

I’m sure it will be extremely helpful to many users.

Good Luck!
