Anyone use the LightSheer-Diode-Lumenis?

Just looking for feedback if you have had this machine used on you. I am type 3 and the setting was at 24. I was just wondering how results were and if you were satisfied.

Thanks.

yes, many people. run a search for “lightsheer”.

it’s a good laser on your skin type, but not easy to use, so the person needs to be experienced. also, 24 doesn’t mean much. I assume that’s joules, but we also need pulse and spot size setting for that number to be meaningful. also, they should use compression when treating.

you can tell if it’s working by seeing if all hair sheds within 3 weeks, because it should.

what area are you treating?

Legs, bikini area, underarms, lip and chin. I think that setting was high enough to accomplish something, I tell you it really hurt during the sensitive areas. Kind of felt like a hot match stick being placed continually on the skin. But as soon as the treatment was done, the pain was gone (I am 7 hours post treatment, no problems).

how coarse and dense is the hair on your face?

The hair on my face is course on the chin, but not as course on the lip, but still somewhat course. Actually, when she was treating my chin, she even commented that the hair is course there. I would say the hair in both areas is pretty dense.

She did lower the setting slightly when doing my face, she said otherwise it could burn me.

The reason I asked is because there is a chance of increased hair growth on a woman’s face when there the hair is not very coarse and dense. If you continue, do avoid her zapping any surrounding areas to avoid stimulating more growth.

Usually, if a woman has less than 300 or so hairs and not all of them area very coarse, we recommend electrolysis.

However, it is not unusal for a skilled, modernly equipped electrologist, to remove at least 500 hairs or more per hour, with ease, using microflash thermolysis. So, a client doesn’t have to adhere to a 300 hair limit when making a decision as to whether to do electrolysis or not. It is not uncommon to wipe the slate clean initially of offending coarse hair within 1-5 hours and then keep the slate clean until there are no more hairs to treat. It’s actually a very practical and permanent way to remove hair. Kind of like a perfect strategy. We just have a terrible time convincing the consumer that this is all possible with electrolysis! If there is someone skilled in your area that can do this, you’d be better off.

I just had a woman come to me with hormonal hair growth who was sure it was going to take thousands of dollars and many, many hours to even make a dent in her problem.

I of course cleared out her face, neck and chest in 90 minutes and sent her on her way. We now see each other once every 3 weeks, and will be going down to once every 4 - 6 weeks soon.
