I want to know if anyone has had good results with either
Amerilight laser or the Amerilase?
I have been going to ALC for over two years, and was doing great on the other lasers, the lightsheer, and Suprano. I have had a few treatments with Amerilight and AmeriLASE, and if anything, I do not think they work as well.
I have black hair and fair skin.
I had started my arm pits with the Suprano and was doing great, then they used the AmeriLase, and now the hair reduction has STOPPED!
I feel kind of disappointed as they changed all the lasers. boo
haven’t seen any posts of good results on the forums yet. One person posted ok results so far with Soprano, but after they did their own research and convinced the clinic to use certain settings. The problem with the Sorprano seems that since the clinics just received them, they don’t know how to set effective settings and are pretty much undertreating everyone.
Yes, I am just waiting to see what others say. I am very disappointed with the Amerilight and AmerLase at this point in time. I had most of my treatments for the underarms with AmeriLase and I am pretty sorry I even spent the money. I am done with any new treatments, since these are the only lasers the company has now.
A good thermolysis electrologist can remove underarm hair permanently in 10 hours or less spread out over 9 months. I have had some clients who were done in 5 hours or less spread out over 9 months. They may have spent less money than you did.
the problem here is the machine, not laser hair removal as a whole. Mzdeadly knew what he was doing. His local chain had a good machine before and he was getting results. Now, they changed machines and the story changed.
5 hours total for both underarms with electrolysis? those people must have had very little hair there to begin with…
I had 5 treatments with GentleLASE on underarms which wiped out about 95% and then finished with electrolysis (that’s $500 and 50 mins TOTAL btw spread over 11 months). I have had zero hair there for months there now. I would advise you to get to a clinic with a better machine now that you’re not happy with this chain anymore and are not under a contract. Time is also money in my opinion.
Hmm well this is true, I had great results before they started this crazy new laser. I am going today for underarms and legs. I am going to ask people in the waiting room what their response has been. I am highly disappointed. I even have noticed on the bikinni area, more hairs are coming back!!! UGH.
But I will definately be looking into other lasers, and even electrologist!!! I will do anything.
That is good to know…I will try both…as I am desperate to be hair free, or at least 75% or more…
I do qualify that the speed given is what I can do, and what some others like me can do, I don’t suggest that anyone can throw a dart into the phone book and get the same or better.
I also just had my first leg treatment this week with the Amerilase at ALC. My legs are still red and have small little bumps where each hair follicle is. Do you know how long this redness will last? I had the treatment on Thursday.
Has anyone responded to getting good results from this laser?
From what I have read and seen in my own client base, many people have got good results from laser for the leg area. It will never be 100% removal, so you can finish up with electrolysis later. If you are good candidate and using the right laser for the job, your chance for hair reduction is very good indeed.
The reaction is normal and actually sounds as though they may have disabled hair follicles. Aloe vera gel, witch hazel (during the day) and tea tree oil at night will hasten your healing. It seems to me that most skin manifestations are gone in under a week, but mostly they are resolved in a couple hours to a couple days.
Thanks Dee. They are using the Amerilase. She had the setting up to the highest level. I have fair skin and dark hair. I am doing my lower-legs.
After reading MZdeadly’s posts I am afraid I have wasted my money with this company ( ALC) and I won’t get good results…
Maybe since this was my first treatment I can try to get out of the contract
Here’s a recent blog you may be interested in reading:
There are six laser hair removal reports to read.
Do you know what kind of laser the Amerilase is? Alexandrite? Diode? Yag? IPL? My memory is weak, but I think this not a great tool for hair removal???
Dee, all this has been covered here before in April. I posted a link to the press article about Syneron Inc. forming a partnership with ALC in which they would re-brand their Syneron Comet (Diode-RF) as the new Amerilase. But www.marketwire.com no longer has the article archived. It’s a Comet laser, pure and simple. There is the Syneron eLaser, and the eLight, that became the AmeriLase and the AmeriLight.
For the record; of everybody that has had treatment with this particular laser, I have only seen one post, or experience outside of this board, that ever said the laser worked with reasonable efficacy. I was treated with essentially that very same laser, at high levels, five times. And, no, it did not work.
Yes, Amerilase is basically rebranded Comet, which is a diode/RF like Mantaray said. It sounds like your clinic might have figured out how to at least get the settings to cause a reaction, Jenna. Red raised follicles are a good sign. Now you ned to wait 3 weeks and see if the hair sheds or stays as pepperspots, both of which are a good sign. If it starts growing as usual after 3 weeks, it was probably not very effective.
Yes, I have also only seen one post where someone said they got results from the couple treatments they had. But they went directly to the manufacturer and asked for the best settings, and then had the clinic use those.
BTW, the numbers they give for ELOS treatments is still not that convincing as most of those ELOS treatments could be with the Aurora (?)
100, 000/year over 4 years = 25,000 a year
25,000 a year / 12 months = 2083 clients
2083 clients per month / 50 states = 41 per month per state =
Slightly more than one person per day, per month per state getting treated by elos technology nationally.
And, most of those should be returning Aurora AND Comet clients.
Not exactly busting the door down with convincing numbers. I would think independent practioners using self-purchased GentleLases have that clearly beat.
UPDATE: This past Saturday 7/21/2007 I went in for my
7X on underarms
11X on legs
with guess what??? that crap so far = AmeriLase
Crap you ask why? First off, the first treatment felt just disgusting, then I have not seen a single difference with this new laser. I have been a client with ALC for over 2 years and was doing wonderful with the Suprano laser.
I walk in and my NEW technician was definately new at 19 years old. I have nothing against this , but I did find her to be a bit not as informed as some of the veterans I have had do my treatments.
When I mentioned I was pretty upset I had not seen results in the 3 x I have used this new addition to the centers (and now you can not use a different laser if this one does NOT work!) I was told that they have not had anyone else complain.
believe me, I tried to ask others waiting in the office what they thought of this new addition, that we were not asked about, or given the option to test first before exchanging all the old lasers!
After this new tech left to let the Manager know of my complaint, " Oh the only thing we can do is turn up the settings". No kidding. I do not mean to be so mad, but I paid in full for this and in the middle of the contract they change the laser, that was working for me.
Other then that, she stated they had it at a lower setting last time. I let her heat it up so to speak. I don’t know it has been a few days and after this many treatments with these new lasers, seeing the amount of hair that is still left, is sad.
I had other treatments with Soprano and lightsheer to my face and bikinni area before, and they are fine, with a lot of hair gone. The legs and under arms I started later right before they switched to the NIGHTMARElase as I call it…lol
Okay I just had to vent.
Anyone with any good results please let me know or post. I am crossing my fingers by some miracle something will change.
I am going to try that. From what I gather they sent back all the other lasers. (ones without their new name on the machines). I just wish they would have consulted the general public, or patients at the centers. Maybe they did and I was not aware. But I was never asked to go to a market research forum, or had any survey conducted. ugh.
I think I am going to look for a new laser place that uses the Suprano laser.
I am not saying that I know anything about this decision, but I will say that the spa industry is more about keeping you coming, than getting you to a point where you believe that you no longer require their services.
