You forgot to mention how much maintenance he will have to pay on any of those

I always wonder if it would be worth it to just buy one of those GentleLASE systems used for $23k. Could treat a few friends for a bit of $$ as well, then when completely satisfied, sell it. Even if you lose a few thousand, you’d def not be patchy and would have covered every inch of your body! Doubt there would be much maintenance if its just being used on one or two people ever 8 weeks. So tempting haha.

only an authorized purchaser can buy this ? right?

Authorization is in the eye of the beholder of the money.

Just for comparison, one could complete professional electrolysis training and outfit an office with the very best equipment like James’ has for less than the cost of a used legit professional laser machine.

Another happy coincidence is that Dectro and their training centers are located right in Quebec and California.

Just an idea

I wouldn’t keep it. Thinking even if you sold it for 20k costs you 3k for full body treatments isn’t bad. Or less if you do your friends!

This question should really be moved to the home laser machine thread. There are several on the forum. It has nothing to do with the topic of this thread, so not sure why they posted here.

Hijacking threads is not cool, buddy.

Male type III/IV, dark hair, but white skin. My legs have gone from gorilla legs (it looked like I was wearing tights) to practically hairless after 5 treatments.

I cannot describe how paintful this was. Most of the hair on my legs grew in twos and threes. Seriously, this was like being stabbed repeatedly with shards of glass. I assume this is becuase there was so much hair.

The machine was a cynosure apogee elite.

Treatments were quite random due to work committments:

From a distance, you would think I have no hair on my legs, but close up, within a couple of feet, you can see that there is hair there. After all this time, growth is now nice and even and looks completely natural. If anything, I’ve overdone lower legs, because I didn’t mind a bit of hair on my calves. Anyway, its all good.

I did a patch below abs and that never grew back after just 3 treatments 6 sep 2008, 7 Mar 2009, 30 May 09.

Gorilla legs to hairfree - almost five years!

It’d be great if both of you posted in our Success Stories thread.

James, it would also be great if you made that thread that’s now lost in the pile somewhere a sticky.

back_hair those are great results! I love the Apogee Elite def my favourite machine

My success story is that maybe two or three years ago I found my new office was around the corner from a laser place.

After 8 or 9 treatments on my shoulders/upper-back, my shoulders and upper back have been free of hair for more than a year now, maybe longer.

There are some straggler hairs that I don’t feel are worth paying for in a futile attempt to catch them in their growth phase. More problematic is that, because I started this after some of my body hairs had started turning clear/white, I have some clear/white hairs that I need to go get regular electrolysis on. For now I just pluck those, and they aren’t visible at a distance anyway.

Was it worth the collective hundreds upon hundreds of dollars? YES!

I am now kind of addicted to this, even though I have no real need for much more. I stopped for a year or so, but now with tax refund time, I had my hands done, and am going ass-up tomorrow to clear the hair from where “God split” me.

Along with these salon visits, I use the Tria to maintain my bikini-line and other intimates. Also use the Tria to keep my underarm hair over a smaller area than it would be naturally – I tried completely bare underarms with one salon treatment but I found it made me feel oddly insecure to have nothing there, so as it grew back three months later I just kept a trace in the middle.

I debate sometimes about getting my stomach and chest done, but at $300 a pop, and an uncertainty about whether I’d feel demasculinized if I lacked that hair, I have thus far held onto it. If I win the lottery, I probably would do it.

It is the addictive nature of laser that is most remarkable to me. I suspect it is similar to how exercise, or chiseling the body into shape, can be addictive. Except here, you just walk in one way, and walk out looking different, with none of that pesky exsertion that exercise requires.

I am also most pleased that no numbing cremes were needed. I am afraid of the allergic reaction risk.

I’ll try to get the info on the model and settings of the salon laser, and post some before and after pics, later this week.

It’d be great if you can post in our new sticky thread called “Success Stories”!

Sure I’ll get the exact dates and try and find some pics and post up in there.

Hi Murach,

I’ve just been reading your other thread and I’m sorry things haven’t worked for you so far. I’m a trained Laser / IPL Practitioner in the UK and I work with a group of doctors in their clinic, where I am the main Laser practitioner and do my own consultations.
Unless you have Asian, Hispanic, Indian or Black skin then IPL may be a much better option for you. I have looked into the Laser machine that was used by your doctor and the ‘scanning’ technology has nothing to do with choosing hairs - it is just about the pattern that the laser uses to move around and treat the area under the head, making sure the small areas it fires on are as far apart each time to let the skin cool. Hope I can help.
