Any female have their buttocks lasered? Embarrasse

I have been getting LHR for years… I’ve had bikini and underarms, lower legs and upper legs done with great results! (I am an extremely fair-skinned white girl with dark hair!)

I need a touch-up about once a year now on my bikini and underarms. I also have 1 more treatment left in a series of 5 that I purchased for my upper legs, that I don’t really need, but should give me 100% clearance after the last treatment (plus I already paid for it!)

Anyway… the last 2 things I want to do are my abdomen, and buttocks! However I am extremely embarrassed as a girl to ask my technician to laser my buttocks. I know I shouldn’t feel this way and my technician is great, however I’m just wondering if there are any other girls out there who have had their buttocks lasered and can give me some advice before I request this service?

Also as a note, I am 6 mos pregnant, so it’s killing me to have to wait another 4 mos basically to get LHR again! I need a touchup on bikini, underarms, and my last treatment on my upper legs, in addition to beginning treatments on stomach and abdomen! Once this baby is born, one of the first things I am doing is calling my laser center!!

your boyfriend’s lucky

I would like to treat this area too, but I would think the hair would be too fine for laser to treat effectively. Was the hair on your upper legs coarse? And do you have hair on your lower back? I do and so I would have to find a way to blend the look.

How much hair do you get on your underarms and bikini before your touchups? I want to get those areas done too.

Candela,

UNDERARMS: On my underarms, I probably have a 10% regrowth.

BIKINI: and on my bikini, maybe 10%+ regrowth. I was Really bad before starting out though so this is a major improvement, and I haven’t had any LHR in those areas in at least 1 year. I’ve also had probably 14-15 treatments on my bikini line too, and am fine with the fact that a yearly touchup in that area may be needed for a long time, if not life. But my improvement from before is substantial.

LEGS: The hair on my upper legs was coarse, but not as coarse as my lower legs. I have had great results on my legs (the best results have been on my legs) and I haven’t had a treatment on my lower legs in several years. I get a few hairs here and there so I still shave my lower legs to feel clean. But in the beginning, because I am so white, that even after I shaved you could still see little black dots underneath my skin (the hair follicles) making it look like I HADN’T shaved, and it was Never smooth. The black dots underneath my skin were so ugly!! Now my legs are like DREAM smooth after I shave (like I said, just for cleanliness and to get a few stray hairs here and there, not so much out of necessity).

BACK/BUTTOCKS: Yes I have hair on my lower back… all over actually but it is extremely fine on my back. I did get laser on my back one time a long time ago and it did NOTHING. I think because the hair is so fine. I think the hair on my butt is also pretty fine, but I think it’s coarser than on my back, so that’s why I want to give it a try! I use VEET on my back every couple of weeks too to keep the baby hair away. I actually don’t have more hair on my back than other people but because I am so white with dark hair, the littlest bit of fine hair shows up and looks gross :frowning:

Thanks for the information Marie.

I am worried that laser wouldn’t work on my back or butt either because the hair isn’t coarse enough. But I’m sure it would be expensive to get electrolysis on such large areas, even if it was just to reduce the hair and not remove it completely.

I use self-tanning lotion so the hair doesn’t show up as much because of the color of my skin as it does because I avoid the sun and so the hair stays its original dark brown color forever instead of lightening. I have an area on my lower back where the hair grows thick and then there’s parts on my upper back where I would like to get it thinned out. I was never as disciplined as you about the depilatory cream because I hate the smell and the mess. That’s probably the way to go until I get the money to remove it, though.

What do you consider expensive?

Here are my thoughts:

  • You’re at a point where you need to switch to electrolysis on all areas you’re treating. Laser doesn’t remove 100% of hair. It really sounds like the hair you have left on bikini and underarms is too fine for laser. Yes, you’re treating it once or twice a year, but you’re not really killing it. You may as well just be shaving it for free. I would advise to start investing in electrolysis to spend that money on permanently removing that 10%.

  • Most women’s hair on butt, abdomen, and back is not coarse enough. From what you describe, it’s not coarse enough on you either. The hair really needs to be coarse like underarms and bikini to be affected. So you really need electrolysis on all of those areas if you want permanent results.

  • Electrolysis is not that slow. The fast methods used by good electrologists with good modern epilators easily remove 5-10 hairs per minute.

  • I’m not sure how to say this in a nice way, but I don’t think it’s worth wasting money on laser just because you think electrolysis is slow since electrolysis will be the only way to remove that finer hair permanently. The fact that you feel you have a lot of fine hair to remove doesn’t make laser any more effective on fine hair. It simply won’t work and you’ll waste a lot of time and money that you can use towards effective electrolysis treatments that will give you permanent results you’re seeking.

  • What type of laser are you using btw and at what settings?
