Any experience with Candela GentleMAX?

Hey guys,

I’m about to implement the second half of my experiment (electrolysis on one side / laser + electrolysis on the other) and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with Candela’s newer product, GentleMAX. It is a YAG + Alexandrite combination laser, although I believe it only does one at a time. I think it’s just the next iteration of their GentleLASE product, so I should expect the same results all things being equal.

Also, I wondered if you know anything about the following practitioners. I found them on Candela’s site:

Ali Sabbaghi, M.D.
Judy Nordella

AESTHETIC LASER INSTITUTE
4849 VAN NUYS BLVD. SUITE 220
SHERMAN OAKS, CA 91403
(818) 933-2575

They advertise a $1800 for 6 treatments of full back and shoulders, so I’ll ask for $900 for half back and shoulder, which is a very reasonable per treatment price of $150.

GenleMAX has both alex and Yag options. So you would need to make sure they set the alex options. I would also find out what settings they would use before committing.

I haven’t heard of the two doctors you mention, but the other is a clinic that has several locations and has changed names many times, which I find a bit disturbing. When I was looking for a clinic, I actually talked to them, but didn’t feel comfortable with their used car salesman approach.

Why don’t you check out Dr Hamilton who is consistently recommended on these forums? His prices are very good, he doesn’t charge up front for treatments, he uses good high settings, and he’s also located in the valley. I think it’s very important for you to try this with someone who knows exactly what they’re doing.
