I REALLY hate posting negative reviews but I feel I need to share this so that others don’t waste their money. I bought a deal for unlimited laser at this place for a year off a deal site. Now I know that’s probably a bad idea but I have one from another clinic and they’re amazing so I figured what the hell. It was $179 for 5 areas for a year. I really wanted it to do my full legs which the deal said counted as 2 body parts, everywhere else was 3. It said treatments are 30 minutes and said that’s just a guideline.
Today I went for my first session, and I was planning on doing full legs and a few other areas. I was told by the owner that no it’s only 30 minutes period and that legs take at least 30 minutes, so all I can do is legs. This was on the phone before I went. I figure $179 for unlimited on legs I guess is still a good deal if just that.
So I go into the place, it’s really nice inside and meet the owner who is really unfriendly. I had to pay the tax on the deal, but she forced me to use debit, saying MasterCard costs her money. She then directed me into a treatment room to wait. I had to wait around 15 minutes while she kept answering the phone and talking to her staff. I noticed on the machine it was set at 15mm spot size and 6 joules. I even texted my best friend and said something along the lines of I hope that the previous person was black, because those settings are brutal. She even had a poster from Candela showing recommended settings, and for skin type 5 where it says Black/African American, it didn’t even suggest going to 6 joules on 15mm, but was higher.
Finally she came in, and changed it to 8 joules 15mm for me!!! Can you believe it?? I’m skin type 2 by the way and very white. She then just starts treating my legs, no grid just firing randomly ALL over! She’d fire, move 3 inches up and fire again, then move another few inches and fire. She was missing spots non stop. It felt like nothing since it was soooooooo low. She even commented that it’s good I know my stuff and that GentleLASE is the best and that no pain no gain! Even if she had used proper settings though she fired ALL over randomly it was absolutely brutal.
I then told her that I just had my full beard done yesterday afternoon with Apogee Elite Alexandrite, at very high settings. I can’t remember what they were but it was 15mm on the alex and 25 or 30 joules. She then says “Lets test my machine and see if its better” and starts firing shots on my chin! My skin is still so tender from my treatment yesterday and she starts firing on it even after I told her!
She spent 10 maybe 15 minutes on both my legs total and said I was done! She then said she would see me in 4 weeks for my next session!!!
I just emailed the deal site and got a full refund which is good but absolutely brutal treatment. Again I hate leaving a negative review but this is really warranted, I’d die if I had paid full price for a legs treatment and got this.
