Amount of laser treatments

Hi!

So I’ve had my first laser treatment done using alexandrite. The clinic told me that I need at least 12 treatments, and each treatment should be 4-6 weeks apart. I’m just a bit sceptical, because I’ve read many places that 6-8 treatments should be enough, and each treatment should have approximately 8 weeks apart. Do you have any thoughts on this?

Thank you in advance.

Sometimes laser works, sometimes it doesn’t. On occasion, it stimulates new hair growth. Laser hair removal is highly unpredictable. Once you reach a point of diminishing returns, you will need to finish up with electrolysis.

Let’s not discourage people with generalities from getting laser because the same experiences can be said about electrolysis. Whether laser is “highly” unpredictable has to be backed up by statistics not based on online forum complaints and personal anecdotes.

Penelope 4-6 weeks or 8 weeks or even 12 weeks depends on which body part you’re treating. 4-6 weeks is fine for faces, 6-8 weeks is ok for body work and as treatments progress, you can go every 8-10 weeks. 12-14 weeks are good for treating legs because legs have very long hair cycles. After 8 treatments, outcomes will diminish.

I’m getting my arms, underarms, legs and bikini treated. I really want to get rid of the hairs as soon as possible. Would it be better to do treatments with 4 weeks apart to begin with, or is 6-8 weeks recommended for better results?

I recommend 6-8 weeks.
