Alexandrite Gentlelase

Hello,

I have started electrolysis on my blonde body hair but my electrologist has said the hairs on my lower leg, underarms and bikini line should be dark enough to be treated by the ‘Alexandrite Gentlelase’ laser.

I’m struggling finding someone who uses the Alexandrite Gentlelase! Is it not widely used? I have trawled through websites offering laser hair removal but haven’t come across any that use it.

I was looking for somewhere in Manchester but it seems I will be lucky to find someone in England!

I would really appreciate being pointed in the right direction,

Thank you

I would definitely do a test spot to test shedding first if you do find someone, since the hairs might seem dark enough compared to the blond but in reality might not be… are they black? Have you tried maybe a provider search on the candela gentlelase site, I know that I can search practioners in the United States with that laser. I know that it is a popular laser in the US, but it is also an expensive machine so that might be why you are having a hard time finding one. Trying seeing if theres a provider search on the candela website for england first and then maybe put in google candela gentlelase and cities that are near you and maybe cities far away if you have to. Laser isn’t something you have to do every week or even every month so traveljing shouldn’t be as much of a problem. Also trying searching for the apogee elite and other apogee lasers that have the alexandrite wavelength, since it is another really good machine. I’ve heard coolglide is a good machine, but it’s easier to mess it up which is why the gentlelase i think is recommended a lot(i personally like it).

If the hair is coarse and dense, then laser will work. Typically, lower legs, bikini and underarms respond best.

You can look at our sticky posts to figure out how to find clinics in your area that have an alex laser. It doesn’t need to be GentleLASE. You can try to find someone with Apogee alex as well. You can easily type these things into Google to search for machine + your city.

I just Googled and saw a bunch of results like this: http://www.londonpremierlaser.co.uk/gentlelase.php

p.s. To correct the advice above, Coolglide is a Yag (a good machine and I wouldn’t say it’s harder to use). You’re probably too light for it. Stick with an alex type of laser if you’re type I-III skin.
