While I don’t have the time to go through all those links, I can tell you just from looking at the list that
Botanics Aromatherapy Pure Essential Tea Tree Oil - 10ml - http://www.boots.com/en/Botanics-Aromatherapy-Pure-Essential-Tea-Tree-Oil-10ml_10723/
Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Oil - 10ml - http://www.boots.com/en/Thursday-Plantation-Tea-Tree-Oil-10ml_537978/
Australian Tea Tree - Tea Tree Oil - http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=1262&prodid=1527
Are products my clients use and are happy with. You really need only find one that is 100% tea tree oil and is packaged in a brown bottle. If you get a mixture of oil, it should be 50/50 with Lavender oil, in order to allow you to apply it during the day and not smell like a Christmas Tree.

The only Witch Hazel product I would be interested in your list would be
Boots Distilled Witch Hazel B.P.C - 200ml - http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Distilled-Witch-Hazel-B.P.C-200ml_2245/

On the Aloe Vera

Dr Organic - Aloe Vera Gel - http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=1631&prodid=1752

Lifeplan Aloe Vera Juice - 1000ml - http://www.boots.com/en/Lifeplan-Aloe-Vera-Juice-1000ml_1037166/

Basically, you want to have an aloe vera that is pure enough that it is edible and needs refrigeration after you open it. Anything else is less than you could have, and won’t give you as much healing for your money. Stay away from the stuff with the green dye in it, and you don’t want to buy the stuff that pre-mixes aloe vera and tea tree oil, as this would cause a reaction that would diminish the strength of both while in the bottle. You don’t want to mix them at home either, unless it is mixed directly on the skin, by applying first one, and then the other.

Thank you for your reply.

May I ask about method of applying? If possible could people fill out the following for me. It’s easier for me to take in:

Tea tree oil
When to apply:
How much:
How to apply:
Other info.:

Witch hazel

Alo vera:

Thanks.

Anyone want to fill this out? I will try making a FAQ after.

I can get you started off here (since no one else did)

Tea tree oil
When to apply: Immediately after treatment (if you don’t mind the smell) and nightly before bed for at least 3 days after treatment, 5 days for good measure.

How much: In most cases, just drops of the product is sufficient.

How to apply: If your bottle doesn’t come with a dropper top that only allows one drop at a time to escape the bottle, you should use a cotton swab to dip into the bottle once and apply the product. No double dipping the swab (to avoid contamination).

Other info.: If you use too much Tea Tree Oil, your skin will become dry and flaky, cut back on amount used, and the skin will return to normal after that upper layer of skin sloughs off.

Witch hazel
When to apply: Immediately after treatment, and in the mornings, and possibly again during the day.

How much: doesn’t take much to cover a large treatment area.

How to apply: wet a cotton ball, or cotton round with the product and smooth on the treated skin, let dry.

Other info.:

Alo vera:
When to apply: Immediately after treatment, first thing in the morning, and anytime during the day.

How much: Like Witch Hazel, a little should cover the whole treatment area. You want to wet the area, and let the skin drink it in.

How to apply: If you don’t have it in a pump dispenser bottle, then wet a cotton ball, or cotton round with the product, or pour a small amount in your clean hands and smooth over the treatment areas and let the skin drink it in.

Other info.: The product should be a pure form that requires refrigeration after opening.

Thank you!

Can someone tell me if I bought the wrong products?

I got hold of the witch hazel in James’ post fine but Holland and Barrett didn’t seem to have everything so I bought:

http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=515&prodid=298 and

http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=1684&prodid=1805 (in a brown bottle).

Thanks.

If that is tea tree oil and not a soap, then you are golden on that. I would rather you find an aloe very that was meant to be ingested, or just buy an aloe plant and break off a chip of a leaf and crush it.

I have a plant at open - if I split the leaf open it comes out nice (like a gel) - do I just directly apply that?

It’s not a soap, it’s in a brown bottle and says 100% tea tree oil on it as well as suitable for vegeterians.

Make sure to only use tea tree oil at night and in very small quantities since it’s very potent.

Noted.

Okay I’m gonna post the ingredients because I may have got this wrong:

Tea tree oil:

Organic Tea Tree Pure Oil - Natural Antiseptic
Organic Tea Tree
(>38% Terpinen-4-ol)…
Ingredients:
Melaleuca alternifolia (Tea Tree) leaf oil, Limonene

Aloe Vera Gel:

Ingredients:
Aloe Barbadensis, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Phanoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Benzonic Acid.

I’m going to chime in here with a couple of my own aftercare products.

  1. Clean bed sheets every week.
  2. A clean t-shirt every night for a couple nights after electrolysis in which to sleep (or clothing for whatever area you are working on).

Duh!

Yes, that aloe plant is fine, in fact better than anything you could buy in a store. The Tea Tree Oil is fine as well.

I have really sensitive skin that doesn’t like tea tree oil. My favorite aftercare product by far is Avene Cicalfate, magical healing cream!

Is this okay too?

peace1,

Based on your ingredient listing, there are not enough healing and calming ingredients in the product so I would not want my clients to use it as electrolysis aftercare.

When do you use it?
How is your skin reacting to the product?
Is it being marketed as an exfoliant?
What country is this product manufactured in?

Just using witch hazel alone would be much better than that thing with so many chemicals.

Okay so keep the tea tree and witch hazel - give back the aloe vera?

That’s fine coz I just need to get hold of the plant then.

I haven’t actuallu started using it as I thought I’d ask here regarding the ingredients.

Yes, use the plant, return the chemicalized product. You will get more out of the fresh plant. If you are going to pay for aloe from the store, at least get pure aloe that is food grade.

The online store has loads of that but when I went to the actual store they didn’t have as much of a variety I guess, well, hetting my plant today!
