Hi Guys so I’ve just come back from my 5th electrolysis session I’m 3 months into treatment. I had 6 hairs removed from my chin 3 from around my left nipple and about 10 from around my right nipple done with flash I paid £12 for a 10 min appointment. The women put some lotion on afterwards which she always done, she advised I don’t wear any make up on the treated area or put any cream on until the next day she also advises I stay out of sun light until the next day although I do have to collect the kids from school later and drop my daughter off and collect from Rainbows ekkk she also advises not to use soap on the face tonight and only wash with water until the next morning. I forgot to ask her what lotion she’s been putting on after treatment I bought 100% organic alo vira ? sorry spelling am I ok to pop this on the are after washing with water tonight and the next couple of days to help heal or does anyone recommend anything better. Also I know electrolysis is suppose to be the only cure for my condition I’m holding out for this, but is there anything else I can do with my diet or herbals I can take to help perhaps lower testosterone to help prevent new ones growing that are dormant or help slow down growth along side electrolysis.
Thanks everyone x
For skin aftercare your electrolysist gave you good advice. Aloe Vera or Teatree oil is shown to be good for affected areas, but washing with water works too. I like coconut oil but I’ve nothing to show this works. Avoid high sunlight.
To keep your levels low, avoid high cholesterol diets, and excesses in vitamin D and zinc. If possible supplement estrogen via high soy intake, or through a supplement. Avoid heavy sugars and keep a balanced diet. There’s evidence that diabetes can be linked to hight testosterone levels. Also high intake of brocoli and cauliflower have been known to increase testosterone.

I started introducing soy milk and yogurts but I’ve read on PCOS sites Soy is to be avoided is that just for PCOS I wonder why they want us to avoid it. I wanted to start taking a multi vit but I guess that would have zimc and D . I eat brocoli quite a lot since my children will only eat brocoli and carrots as veg ekk must look into this more.
I’ve said this elsewhere, look on the web at " Increasing testosterone" . Alot of the advice given there is the same. You want to do the opposite. Avoid high cholesterol like the plague.

Ok I have looked online I just though being in a forum with people having the same issues may give advise on what’s helped them, and Soy only seem from what I’ve read online to be good for men at reducing testosterone but to be avoided by women with on pcos sites and men that don’t want to reduce testosterone there are different information every where. Thanks though I’ll definitely cut back on the broccoli.
I also asked the electrolysis when I should see the growth slow down or come in less often, she said she hoped since I’d been coming 3 months it should start to impact around now? is this about right I’m keeping my fingers crossed, I’ve been going every 3 weeks this time I went only 2 weeks after last appointment would just like to see some decrease in hairs or decrease in length of time between appointment to show me its working keeping the faith.
If in doubt, a MD is a far better source of information than ANY forum.
You should see a decrease over time in how much hair there is. You need to let the growth cycles normalize, like you were told before. In the next month or so the plucked hairs should show so you may see some short term increase, then a gradual decline.

I’m going to sound really stupid now but what is an MD
Medical Doctor
oh sorry lol silly me I’m in the UK and we don’t abbreviate that our doctors are pretty rubbish at all this she basically told me to just bleach which the black ones won’t so no help at all I mentioned electrolysis to her which she said could be done on a case by case situation what ever that means and I’d have to look into it privately she couldn’t discuss it. She offered me Diantee pill but due to family medical history which she didn’t even bother to discuss with me I am at high risk taking such a tablet which is why I am trying the electrolysis alone first and anything natural I can do.

Thanks as you can imagine with this causing anxiety I have done a lot of online research its just nice to know what helped others personally. How long do you think it will take to start to see results from the electrolysis I’m expecting it to be a year before they are gone for good maybe more ekk but when should I start to see that its making a different decreasing time between sessions and hairs popping up etc… today was my 5th session been going for 12 weeks - 3 months.
