after shaving pits, hair seems to grow darker???

Okay. I’ve heard about all the scientific facts that prove that hair does not grow back darker after shaving. And that may be true.

When I shave my armpits, however, the hair around the parts that I have shaved begin to darken. It seems like the peach fuzz around my armpits becomes thick and darker. Thus, I have to shave a bigger area every time I shave. I don’t shave every day because I’m really lazy, and I have seen the area I need to shave grow larger. The hair used to be located only in my armpit. Now it’s beginning to reach my bra area.

Has anyone experienced the same, either in their underarms or in their bikini area? Now I’m afraid if I shave too much, I will end up with dark hairs all over. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Would my problems be solved if I shaved daily (i don’t know how it would solve anything, but it’s worth a suggestion)?

ugh. if i hadn’t started shaving when I was 12, would I have encountered less of these problems?

Hey, I have the same problem. I thought I was the only clumsy one. I noticed all of a sudden that the thicker hairs in my armpit area were extending in area. Looking back I realized I must have shaved my armpits quickly in the shower, trailing the razor downwards, shaving tiny fine hairs unintentionally. So now I have thick armpit hair that extends down and I too was afraid that it would keep getting bigger and bigger if i tried to keep shaving it since I have fine hairs all over my trunk. I just shave the part that shows when i wear a shirt for now because i don’t want it to get worse. i don’t really know any solution. i was thinking about waxing or epilating certain hairs. I use an electric shaver for isolated long hair because i don’t want the other hairs to get affected. whether shaving makes hair thicker or not is really irrelevant. some people say it’s just stubble but not thicker. either way, even it it truly isn’t thicker, what’s more important is that it looks thicker like the terminal hairs of a man. and if your period is regular and normal, it can’t be hormones randomly in the middle of young adulthood. sorry i have no solution to offer, but at least some empathy.
