I just did my first treatment with a Lightsheer. I am a 26yo male, caucasian. I have dark thick hair. I think i am skin type III.
It is about 8 days after my treatment, and I dont see a difference. When I did the treatement the girl used 18 joules. I had my hairy chest and stomach done. I heard the hairs pop under my skin a lot I think. We even smelled burning hair during the treatement, is this normal?
Anyways, it is day 8, and I shaved my chest again for the second time since the treatment. The hair is growing like normal, never stopped. People told me it should be falling out??? but it isnt, it isnt even slowing down. Maybe it slowed a little bit for a day or two after treatment. And the hair that came out after treatment feels course and burnt.
So should I continue treatements or is this a-typical?
What area? What is the spot size and pulse width? 18j is too low either way, but we still need to know those other settings. If your skin can’t handle at least 25J (hopefully with spot size of 12mm and pulse width of under 30), then you shouldn’t be using this machine.
Diode is effective when used properly. By the sound of it, it’s not here.
Either way, you need to wait 2-3 weeks to judge shedding. And try to avoid shaving. It can slow it down.
I’m not sure what the exact settings for spot size and pulse width, I will ask next time.
I am doing my chest and stomach. And it definitely burned all the hair, not sure if it killed the root. Hair is still growing normal. But it was really painful, I will ask to go up higher next time, but I hope it isnt too painful for me, my hair is thick.
Personally with GentleLASE I find it starts around day 10 and can take 2-3 weeks to fall out. My beard/neck for example didn’t seem to start until more like day 14 and it was only the odd hair here and there, it really took quite awhile before it all was out. It seems like once you forget about it and almost give up checking daily that’s when you notice hey all the hair is out
You should call and ask for the other settings. It will be too late to make adjustments if you don’t know what to ask for when you come in next time. You should come in next time prepared.
