Had my 3rd treatment a week and a half ago. I have had some shedding but I guess I expected more. It seems that the treated hair is shedding somewhat, but not entirely. Maybe I am not done shedding and I can expect it to continue longer? I realize that I will have regrowth but it just seems like all of the treated hair has not been affected. Thanks for any replies.
Shedding takes up to 3 weeks to occur. You’re currently in the process of the shedding happening. After 3 weeks, look to see what hasn’t shed yet.
ok, thanks. Is it ok to shave or should I wait until shedding is done? I have zebra stripes, it looks so funny. If I shave I am more likely to have pepper spots?
If you’re having zebra stripes, it sounds like a lot of spots were missed. How much of it is growing like it normally does? Everyone has different opinions on shaving. I think it’s generally ok to shave. You won’t be more likely to have pepper spots, but it might take a little longer for the pepper spots to disappear if you shave.
I have had zebra stripes after both my 1st and 2nd treatments. This time I know that the laser did get those striped areas, at least most of them. I am also sure that the treatments have been successful because next to the strips of hair, there are completely smooth and bare strip. What bugs me is that some of the strips that were left after the first and second treatments are still there. I am really hoping that this time they will shed since I did feel the laser hit those areas (it hurt)
Honestly sounds like a dodgy treatment and/or settings. What kind of laser and settings were used & were they rushing?
If you don’t know, you really should ask.
Shaving is okay, I just find that sometimes it makes the hair a bit slower to fall out because when it’s longer it gets caught on your clothing etc and gets exfoliated out. Shaving won’t impact it at all. What I always do though is take duct tape starting at least 10 days from the treatment date and push it on the area then gently pull it off. Slowly not like waxing. Any hair that’s loose will slide right out, where as hair that isn’t ready will stay in since the tape isn’t that strong.
It was a Groupon special. The entire treatment literally has taken less than 5 minutes each time. I am not sure what laser they use. It really does seem to work well on the treated areas. Now I am convinced that the strips of hair left have just entirely been missed by the laser. I just hope that at the end, it won’t really matter because eventually the area will be treated. It is just really annoying and weird looking.
I have discovered that places that do groupon treatments generally use less than effective settings with less than good techniques. Can you call them and find out the name of the laser and the settings they used?
If the hair is coming back in stripes, it’s definitely missed. If it was some hairs here and there and looked fairly even, then that is hair that is regrowing.
I am going to find out the name of the laser and the settings. I am betting it is more technique than laser because I have totally smoothe and bare areas. By the way oshkosh, I love your tape idea!
