Advil , was told makes skin more light sensitive

Hello everyone, I have had two treatments done using a Gentlelase machine at 18mm and 18J . I am probably a type II skin type with coarse black hair . I took Advil the first time. The tech told me not to take it as it makes your skin more sensitive to light. Has anyone else heard this?

I took two extra strength tylenols the second time when I had my chest done at the same settings and I was in incredible pain. I have had fillings done with no freezing that were less painful. I was thinking of taking both Advil and Tylenol when I go back again. Anyone else find the ribcage area hard to deal with?

I’ve never heard that, if anything it helps. My very first session they were surprised how little pain I showed and asked if I took anything before. I told them I took advil before for a headache and they were all like ohhhhhh that’s why then.

As long as the drug is not photosensitive, you’re fine. I don’t know Advil is.

You should ask to ice the area before and after. That helps a lot. Numbing cream is also an option, though more expensive of course.

Depending on if your going to a doctor’s office clinic or not, you can ask for a pain killer script from that doctor. Or even ask your regular doctor, they might prescribe one as well for the pain. Never hurts to ask, everyone has difference pain tolerances,
