I’m a late 20’s man, fair skin Type II-- unconfirmed, but the description matches how my skin tans. I have extensive hair coverage on most of my body, but the area I’m really concerned about clearing off is my back. I have blond hair on my head but most of my body hair seems to be darker. My back has dense patches on the small of my back and along either side of my spine but on my upper back it’s a little sparser.
I finally have enough funds to do some permanent (I hope) removal. Aside from choosing a decent clinic my main problem is time. I have about ten months before I am scheduled to go overseas for a six month period for my work. Could I get enough treatments to matter in the ten month period? Can I go through a certain amount of treatments in those ten months and then pick up where I left off?
Finally can anyone recommend a decent clinic in either Ottawa or London, Ontario, Canada?
These shots are three weeks or so after I shaved. When it’s grown -out it’s quite dense. For comparison here’s a picture of my knee. The small of my back and the mid-back would be approximate.
Not sure about your lower back where the hair seems finer, but given the same density as your knee, mid-back and upper back should be suitable for laser as they seem coarse, dark, and dense enough. laser doesn’t work on blond hair, so make sure the roots of the hairs you are treating are dark. Alexandrite laser is best for you. You need to do plenty of research to find a place that has one and will have your best interests in mind.
Thanks, lagirl. I think my lower-back would be do-able. The hair on my knee is quite similar to the hair on the small of my back at full growth. But do you think ten months is sufficent time to begin treatments? I have until next August then I’m going to an undeveloped part of Asia for work for six months. If I begin treatments now is it worth my time/money. Can I pick up after those six months if I can’t get the six or eight treatments in the next ten?
it is definitely worth it to start. in 10 months, you will probably be able to get 3-4 treatments, after which you should see a good reduction. it’s not a problem to wait 6 months after that if you get that many treatments in before you go as you will go once through most hair cycles.
also, if you will be near China and some other countries in SE Asia, they do have some clinics there and treatments are much cheaper from what we hear. Though, you do have to look around for someone with a good machine.
