I’m a Black female with embarrassing hair on my chin. My hair is very course, so I decided to try the laser treatment. My first treatment was this previous Monday (5/7). The next day I shaved the area because there was still alot of hair and I had to go to work.
So far after 6 days there is no change in the area. I haven’t shaved the area in a couple of days. The hair seems to be still going like normal. I’ve even tugged on some of the hairs and they are still intact.
Am I expecting too much too soon? 
What laser was used on you? How did you decide on this clinic? What did THEY tell you would happen?
First, the area should have been shaved before being treated. Second, I hope they used a Yag laser on you. Also, if the area was properly treated and it was shaved prior to treatment, I would expect a lot of the hair was burned off at the treatment. Can you please provide more details?
p.s. with proper treatment, hair sheds within 2-3 weeks. not sure if this was a proper treatment though at this point.
I think they used the YAG laser on me.
I actually shaved the area before and after the treatment. The next morning there was still a lot of hair left so I shaved it. The doctor said I could shave if I had no other options.
However she also said that the hairs should be falling out.
hairs take 2-3 weeks to fall out. you need to wait that long first. for most shedding starts at about 1.5 weeks. it would benefit you to find out the name of the machine, settings used, etc so we can help you more in the future.
