Advice for Electrolysis in Brazilian Area

Hello,

I’m new here after having started electrolysis treatments on my underarms this week. I’ve done about an hour so far and have maybe 30-45 minutes left until initial clearing. Very excited!

I’m contemplating brazilian removal as well but am looking for advice because I know it will be time consuming and expensive. Could anyone give me a ballpark for the number of hours I should expect this to take (even if it’s a big range)? I’ve seen a lot of recommendations to start out with some laser treatments first, but am hesitant to spend more money on laser - I had 5 treatments on my bikini line and underarms a few years ago and saw very little difference, to the point where even the electrologist I saw this week was shocked. So I don’t really want to take that gamble again unless it really would stand to save me $$$.

For context, I have light (olive) skin and brown hair. While I’ve only ever shaved my underarms, I’ve abused the hairs in my bikini area a lot with waxing, tweezing, shaving… you name it. This is another reason I’m concerned that electrolysis in that area will be a huge undertaking. (ETA: On the other hand, I am at least a small person.) But it’s gotten to the point where red bumps, scabs, and ingrowns are a CONSTANT problem. It’s so gross. I feel like I just need this hair gone forever.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my yes! In too many cases the “bikini” area is mangled by the time the clients gets around to electrolysis. I’m working on a young woman and this is a mess. One area of ingrown hairs (one spot) … I’ve already removed 9 hairs from the area.

Any idea how long it’ll take you to get through the whole thing?
