Can you get electrolysis while taking the acne medication Accutane (isotretinoin)? If not, how many months should you wait after taking it before resuming electrolysis? Thanks. I was just wondering what you do re: accutane in your practice. I know I ultimately need to ask a dermatologist.
First question: Accutane and electrolysis. I will do it, depending on what I see, but I use an insulated probe and watch the skin closely. I do shorter sessions. The skin is dry and fragile, so it would be best to have the client wait.
Second question: Wait time? Some doctors recommend 6 months and some recommend a year after Accutane treatment. It’s a potent drug, but it has performed miracles on people with a bad case of cystic acne.
