A week away from 2nd treatment.. not much regrowth

I’m going to get my 2nd treatment (man’s back) done in a week. I’m definitely starting to get some regrowth, but it still is far from being as hairy as it was before my first treatment. Do you think this would be a good time to go? (My first treatment was April 28)

Also, my practitioner missed a few small spots on my back last time I went. Is this to be expected or should she be able to get everything zapped?

Well, this isn’t a bad problem to have  Back can wait 12 weeks without problems. So don’t go until you have enough hair to treat. Reschedule.

If more than 15-20% is missed, you should get a touchup on that 3-4 weeks after the treatment. If it’s 10% or less, just let it be and they will get it next time.

OK. Thanks for the advice.
Do you think that the fact that it hasn’t grown back much after 8 weeks is a good sign that it’s working?

Yes.

ht444, I don’t want to discourage you but you should be prepared. I must tell you that after my first leg treatment very little hair came back after 8 weeks. I thought wow this is amazing. However, after 14 weeks,it was all back. I was disappointed by this but as LA Girl explained, treatments should coincide with hair growth cycles which is why you should wait a little longer to get another treatment. I am hopeful that when I restart my treatments on a regular schedule again in the Fall, I will achieve the reduction I am seeking. Keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to make my appointment 3 weeks later than it was going to be. So that is about 11 weeks since I had my last treatment. Do you think this is too long? I could make 10 weeks if I wanted to.

stormy, the hair wasn’t “back”. It’s NEW hair in the next growth phase that you were seeing. This is normal as hair grows in phases which is why you need several treatments, i.e. to kill hair in every phase of growth. At any point, you only see at most 30% of all the hair you have on that area.

ht444, you should wait as long as you need to. There isn’t a standard schedule. It depends on your hair growth. You need to go in when there is enough hair. There needs to be hair there in order to kill it.

Yes, LA Girl-bad choice of words on my part. New hair and not regrowth. Thank you for clearing this up for me.
