where in the bay area? my friend is looking in san francisco and the south bay, and has found at least 15 clinics so far.
anywhere In contra costa county!
You can try running a provider search here. I’m sure there are a bunch. My friend was able to find 15 places in a day by just looking online etc in SF and south bay:
Candela GentleLASE Alexandrite or GentleYag ND:Yag: http://www.candelalaser.com/patients/index.cfm?task=practSearch
Lumenis LightSheer Diode: http://www.skinandhealth.com/details/practitioner
Cutera Coolglide ND:Yag:

American Society of Dermatological Surgery procedure provider search

well I’m trying to find gentelase laser.
and the first and last link doesn’t give you any leads? i’m sure there are at least 5. for some, you would have to call or look on their website to see which laser they use. but the first link provides you with a list specifically of GentleLASE providers by typing in your zip code.
The first link gives me one clinic, the problem is that its too far away.I’ve called at least 5 different clinics, and they all have IPLs or yag lasers!! what is it with this,Why aren’t clinics purchasing the effective laser?I also emailed another clinic, and this is my email!
READ IT FROM THE BOTTOM TO TOP.

(ME)Oh I see. do u know any clinics that have the gentlelase laser around the area?

An example of misinformation. But in her defense, she may not exactly know any better and may only be repeating what she has been taught.
There are two Gentlelase Alex lasers, and one is older than the other, but the difference is really the internal workings of the laser. Not in the technology or how it works. To argue that the Gentleyag is a new laser and therefore preferable is to not know what you are talking about.
Centers that have only a YAG or IPL do it because it is cheaper to have one laser to treat all people than to have two lasers that one can use to treat all people. Of course what that also means is that they are less concerned about how effectively they are treating all people.
It is kind of like if you own a moving company. You can go out and buy a big truck or you can go out and buy a big truck for big moving jobs and a small truck for small moving jobs. Now the company with just one big truck can handle all kinds of jobs but they aren’t as serious about offering their customers quality service if they are willing to buy the equipment necessary to meet the job size of their customers. Same with lasers and hair removal.
