Basically I’ve had seven treatments now and its been ten weeks since my last and I’m still seeing growth persisting. There are no completely dead follicles either but it has grown back a bit finer but I am still convinced that it’ll grow back like normal. However the chain of clinics I’m with, one of them uses a cynosure apogee elite mpx machine. Ive heard that this might be better for me as you can adjust the pulse width which perhaps I might need to penentrate the follicles deeper. However could somebody tell me the max setings I will need on this machine and the pulse width I need.

As LAgirl will tell you, the hair is to fine to treat with the laser. Laser only works with dark, coarse hair. You need to start with electrolysis to complete the job.

Good luck to you.

Thanks for the picture. I agree. You need COARSE, DENSE, DARK hair for laser. Did the clinic tell you this?

A modern electrologist can speed through this using one of the better modalities of thermolysis.

okay I am taking your advice on board. Could you explain to me what thermolysis is? Also, I am a male from maidstone in kent in the u.k so I don’t know if I would be able to find that here.

This is what thermolysis looks like - MultiPlex specifically. This is speed and precision at it’s best. This video, and many others, was kindly shared with the hairtell community by our hairtell pro, Jossie.

Watch a few of her video’s to get an idea of what we talk about here as far as electrolysis, via a high tech thermolysis mode, can do for large and small areas. It works, but I always have to add that ALL MODALITIES of electrolysis work. You will have to hunt around to find something close to this, but if you cannot find anything close to this, YOU WILL STILL GET PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL via other strategies and modes.

THis is a video of arm work, similar to yours. Again, it’s Jossie’s great work.

View all 16 of her videos and you will get the idea of what is possible as far as speed goes and it is deadly to hair, as in PERMANENT.

She is using and Apilus Platinum epilator - very high tech.

My arm looks exactly like that last video! Would it take a long time to do? and is it painful? Will I need more than one treatment on each follicle or can I achieve permanency with every insertion of the needle? Really appreciating your advice thank you!

You are very welcome. You can private message Jossie and ask her or maybe she will see this post and respond to you. Arm cases can take 9- 18 months to complete, but most are in the 12-14 month range from my side of the fence. It is not so painful, except when you get around the elbow area. It pinches there. Yes, you can achieve permanency with every insertion of the needle given that the electrologist is doing her/his part correctly.

Okay! I have phoned a place near me and their electrolysis machines are the dulac and the caroton ( not sure how you spell it) are these good machines?

The machine is as good as the person working it. Just go in and get a consult, have a treatment. You may not find the kind of treatment Jossie demonstrates so well, but don’t let that stop you from moving forward. Do check out the local talent.

An average electrologist removes 5-10 hairs per minute. Hair grows in cycles, so you’ll need to go in for 12-18 months to kill all hair in all cycles. You also want to do longer appts in the beginning to clear the area fast. Then you can come in once every 3-5 weeks to clear the area again and again. There will be less hair each time.

I believe Jossie says about 3 clearances are needed for an area like the arms. If you want to compare it to Laser, where you wait for a “full growth” to come through before your next appointment.

I believe about 1 working day (perhaps less) of treatment is needed to clear 1 arm at the sort of speed seen in that video.

I would not even like to estimate how long this might take with a “regular” electrologist. I have not found anyone in or around London (UK) who does electrolysis that can be compared to our HairTell electrologists. Safe, effective treatment, yes. But not fast and efficient, so out of the question for large areas unless you have money and time to kill.

Here is a recent arm case that Jossie is working on:

Pictures from Josefa if you scroll down.

My sister’s arms (now) are the same as these arms. After 3 Laser treatments that have given her some reduction. She will be having them treated by Josefa because we feel the hair is too fine for further Laser. She has already started her face as followed in this thread:
http://www.hairtell.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/87101/Re_My_sister_s_electrolysis_di.html#top

She had an arm test patch at the end of this treatment, with the new Laurier probe. She said it hurt like a <insert expletive>. For the actual treatment, she will use some numbing cream most likely.

I had 5 Laser treatments on my arms. I got some reduction as well. If I had access to Josefa back then, I would have gone straight for electrolysis. For the same amount of money I spent on Laser, I would have achieved better results.
