6 weeks - good results so far!

Hi,
Im new to the forum, and have to say its great

I have had excessive body hair all my life and suffer from terrible ingrown hair and scarring so in January 2011 I decided to take the plunge and go for laser treatement.

. Area(s) treated: FULL LEGS
2. How long it’s been since last treatment: 6 WEEKS
3. Your skin and hair type on that area(s): ASIAN SKIN AND THICK HAIR
4. Device used and settings (if known): SOPRANO XL
5. Estimated % of reduction in the area(s): 70%
6. Name and location of clinic (great recommendation!): COURT HOUSE CLINIC BIRMINGHAM, -BUT CHANGING TO AFFORD LASER IN PADDINGTON LONDON UK

  1. Finishing with electrolysis: No

After 3 treatments I have been convinced to go for the Full Body package, I have had a good reduction on my legs and hardly need to shave my lower legs as there is hardly any hair there!

Thighs there is quite abit of hair there, but nowhere near as bad as before, was paying £230 a session at Court House clinic and even though I had good results the staff wasnt very halepful and at times very rude hence the reason why I am going some where else for my treatements, I am now going to be paying £3000 in 4 installments for the WHOLE BODY for a course of 6 sessions.

Hi Nikki, that’s great. However this thread is for reporting the level of success 6 months after you have stopped treatments. I hope you still have 70% reduction in 5 months time.

Also, please be aware that laser is only going to work on areas where the hair is coarse and dark. I would expect that you will get good results on your underarms and bikini area. You may get an okay reduction on your arms. Although, we suggest not treating the upper arm area due to the risk of induced growth. I’m assuming you’re female, in which case the rest of the body hair is probably too fine (does it not make you wonder why the lower leg got really good results and the thighs didn’t? - the remaining hairs are probably too fine) for laser. In which case, it may just be worth paying for the areas where it will works rather than dropping £3000 for everything.

All the laser I did cost me £1756 (faints)
Everything remaining is too fine for laser and I will be tackling it with electrolysis.

  • You can’t judge reduction after 1 treatments. Hair grows in cycles.

  • Please read our FAQs at the link below. You need to have correct expectations if you don’t want to get disappointed.

  • Full body treatments are rarely a good idea as laser only works on the most coarse and dense growth.
