40 and back at it.

Well I had to take a break for a few years, 2 to be exact, personal reason’s I won’t get into.

So I had my arms done, 6 times lower, 11 times hands and upper arms.

Gentlelase, ranging from 14 to 18j or however you say it. Hair is 90+% gone on my hands, 60% gone on my lower arms, which is what I wanted, and 80% uppers, but it grows really long if I let it, so I just hit it the other day to get shaving down to once every few weeks.

Just started with my legs, and will begin chest soon

I’ll do the same that I did with my legs as I did my arms, and the chest until it’s done. 2 year commitment I’m sure.

Not sure what I will do with the back.

I guess the moral of the 1st part of this post is to say with the right laser, it works, just takes a long time. For me, worth it, no longer self conscious about my hands or arms anymore, making the quality of life much better for me.

I do have a question regarding shaving before laser, shaving my arms a day or two prior was not a big deal.

They told me to shave my chest to get used to the feeling. Well come to find out, my chest grows in like my beard, so I made the mistake of shaving it the next day as well and man did that kill, and now it’s irritated and I have growth.

Same with legs, I really really don’t know how you women do it.

I make sure to take a hot shower, use gel, new blade etc, is this something that I will get used to?

I’m guessing I’ll need to shave the day of treatment for my chest, otherwise I will have stubble.

And, unfortunately, I was hoping to do my chest tomorrow, chest is irritated from shaving it yesterday, what are the chances of being able to shave tomorrow and get treated?

Ice and apply pure aloe vera gel to minimize the irritation.

To prevent irritation in the first place, I can suggest you to shave with the grain or use rotary electric shaver.

I think maybe the rotary shaver is a good idea, any suggestions on models?

Did my chest last Sunday, 16j, took 2 hours to get through it. Was not fun. No numbing cream, area is way to large. I may do it again at 6 weeks instead of 8, not sure yet.

The laser got rid of the irritation ;o)

shedding feels like sand paper, but a 1000 times better than feeling it grow. That was freaking horrible…

In case anyone is wondering, upper chest was the worst, I would say the sides of my pec’s going to my armpits… And no, numbing cream is not an option.

My hair is so coarse and thick that I was bleeding with some hits.

My chest is going to react really well to this.

I bet once I get through the 1st 4 it won’t be nearly as painful.

1 down

I tried shaving with a rotary shaver on my chest, stomach, and ass, and boy was it really irritating. About an hour later the shaved areas turned red and itched, to the point that I was having trouble sleeping that night. The next day was my session, and the technician was concerned that it might be so painful that they’d have to postpone, but it was alright and didn’t hurt any more than usual. From now on I’m using the same type of electric shaver that they use at the clinic to shave clients before the treatments. Some places make you purchase that anyway, if you’re having your public hair done, and using it doesn’t cause any irritation at all.

I wanted to write Foil electric shaver instead of Rotary electric shaver.
