3 Full Clearance UK Help...

Hi, this is my first post and thread so hopefully it is in the right place.
I have been reading on here for a while now and have been really impressed by all the information, expertise and experience made available. So thankyou everyone for your input.

After lengthy reading on the forum I have finally decided on getting electrolysis instead of laser and would appreciate any input or recommendations.

I am located in London, UK and am looking to remove hair from my back and possibly beard/neck. From what I have read it is possible to achieve the hair removal I want in 3 full clearances. I would prefer this method of 3 full clearances instead of going for treatment every week but have read that there aren’t as many practitioners offering this.

As far as i know the only people offering this type of treatment in the Uk are Mairi Hawkes and Cherrytree in Scotland along with Follizap; although I think I remember reading Follizap is no longer practicing. Is this true?

So if anyone could recommend any practitioners who could provide full clearance type treatment I would be very appreciative. I am willing to travel and stay somewhere for a few days or week if necessary and will also consider practitioners outside the UK.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I am in UK your best bet is to go on here and try out the closest one to you, if you don’t get on with them try another don’t just go to a salon. These guys are properly registered and have to be tested annually to prove there work as well as be fully qualified in the first place and pay an annual subscription. http://www.electrolysis.co.uk/ use the find a member on the right hand side.

Hi boy1,
I am in London, and can do clearances if planned well ahead. I use Instantron Spectrum Elite and Laurier IBP’s. PM me if you would like to discuss.

Thanks Helen. I have had a search through the BIAE members but couldn’t find any member’s websites which mentioned marathon sessions. From what I’ve read on here, most people practicing electrolysis in the UK do not offer this type of treatment option. Thanks for the help though.

Hi Geri, I’ve sent you a PM so hopefully we will continue discussion.
On a side note, what is the difference between all the machines? I’ve seen people mention different ones, especially Apilus. What, if any, are the differences? Is one more effective than the other?

All professional electrolysis epilators are effective even though there are differences in what options they offer and how they are engineered. Some companies keep improving their products based on what feedback we professional electrologists give them.

You mentioned Apilus and yes, Apilus does offer great products, no doubt about that. Instantron does, too. I have a few epilators in my office right now that I use to say what I say here with honesty. I have actually touched them and used them on real people and know the differences. I am using the new Silhouet-Tone Evolution 5 HD this morning when I work on a woman’s legs. It has a Touch Screen like an iPhone. Pretty cool. I could go on with more examples about epilator brands, but my point is, yes, they are all different and so is the person using the machine. A skilled Electrologist, with experience, who is passionate and careful about her/ his work is what you are looking for, not the machine necessarily, but to me, equipment is still part of the equation.

MANTRA: get as many consults as you can, with different Electrologists, using whatever equipment they use. Keep a journal and then decide, based on what you felt, how you were treated personally and how you healed…

SKILL is what you are evaluating, but I have always said that very close to that skill is choosing and using good tools to help move a very difficult process along. Hair is tough and we need good tools to get them gone! Fortunately, several of our “tool makers” are working on the consumers behalf to make this as easy as possible.

Thanks Dee, I have been trying to get consultations but so few offer marathon sessions, so even finding someone to try out is proving very difficult.
So in the same hands will different machines provide similar hair removal rates?

Yes, because good electrolysis care is about careful, accurate insertions, along with many options for choosing the right recipe for timing and intensity.

Personally speaking, I have my favorite epilators though. The more bells and whistles, the better for me because I like having a lot of choices in my toolbox.
