I’ve just had my second session of laser hair removal but I never have a ‘hair free period’ between my session, in fact I have stubble the very next day. Is that normal? I’m not noticing any patchiness either - I have my underarms, bikini line and legs done every 10 weeks.
Next day stubble is normal. Shedding should start at around 1.5 weeks and continues until 3 weeks post-treatment.

What laser? What settings? Skin type?
Looking at other posts I think I’ve got my answer and unfortunately it looks like I’ve wasted my money - if only I’d seen this site before I signed up with ALC! I’m a type 4 skin but I have blonde hair which they assured me would not be a problem as its not white. They did say it might take longer than normal but gave me a 2 year guarantee. The laser they said they used was on the first treatment the Amerilight and the last one was the Amerilaser and they say they are due to increase the setting the next time I go in May.
So you have blonde hair and you had no shedding. Yes very irresponsible of those people that treated you. A good place would never have treated you. Hopefully your hair didn’t become worse than it was though. Sometimes Laser makes the hair darker and thicker.
I’m meant to have 6-8 sessions as I signed up for a package and they say I’m likely to notice a difference after the 3rd go. I doubt it will get any coarser as although I’m blonde my legs are always like sandpaper by the evening if I shave in the morning or even before that if I get cold. Guess I’ll have to look into something else and wave goodbye to the $4000 I paid. 
Laser won’t work on blond hair. If the roots are dark, then it may work and you would be able to tell by the shedding.
I would demand your money back. They shouldn’t be treating you. There are no lasers or IPLs that work on blond hair.
How did you pay? Can you dispute it with your credit card?
“Amerilight” is an IPL with RF made by Syneron and renamed. “Amerilase” is basically their Comet machine (diode + RF) renamed.
