2 questions

1st, i started electrolysis the 1st week of march. wouldn’t that be 4 months into it? my tech says 3? i count march as one month b/c i went weekly that whole month.

2nd, last time i thought i had a growth spurt of fine hairs. she said it happens sometimes, and then you turn a corner. is that true? should i notice my time dwindling? sometimes she ends early, but the last one took the full hour. please tell me when i should see some milestones reached.

Hard to answer your questions. I would count starting from your first clearance, as starting from your first treatment is only good for the hairs that were treated. If that doesn’t cover enough skin to make a noticeable difference, the month’s work of work would not give you a visible reduction.

Same goes with your second question; until you are doing full clearances either with every appointment, or at least once every 6 weeks, you will not notice reductions in time of treatment, and even if you do, during the first 9 months, you would have a roller coaster where you reduce, then rebound (new phase of growth coming in) and reduce again. After 9 go arounds like that, one would start hitting the “missed hairs” and then one would be done with treatment.

You normally see a visual difference sometime between 12 weeks and 6 months. Of course, a person who did not take a before picture would not be in the best position to see what a difference that might be.

You should count after your first clearance, since before that point the electrologist is spending a lot of time treating hairs that are already in the wrong phase of growth.

Yes, there will be times when you see spurts of growth because hair grows in several phases.

Once again, it’s most important to come in as often as possible and for long appts in the beginning to get to your first clearance. And it’s important to come in as soon as new hair pops up afterwards to kill it in the first phase of growth. If you continue doing this, you will be mostly hairfree throughout your treatments and you’ll see that you’ll need less and less treaments, especially after 6 months of treatments or so.

ok, so i am getting full clearance on each visit, but the 1st month i wasn’t b/c my appts were too short. sometimes we end 5 minutes early, sometimes we are the full hour. she spends most the time searching for hairs b/c they are so light and fine. the dark hairs will stay clear for months, it’s the abundance of fine hairs that are taking forever. i always leave cleared, but am still going every 2 weeks for a small area. i just wondered if i should see a bigger improvemnt. it seems to be working, but sometimes i wonder??? thanks for your input!

If her vision wear and lighting is average or sub-par, then she has to go slower to find and then carefuly insert to treat the finer hairs. This makes this point of your hair removal plan seem slower, but you will still get there.
