14 Sessions - Skeptical

Hi

So my experience with laser hair removal has been a little up an down. I’ve had full back and shoulders done.

I’ve had a total of 14 sessions over about 2 years with two different clinics both using Candela (the first 8 were 4 weeks apart, then a long gap. second 6 were 4-5 weeks apart).

The first place seemed to take a long time to complete the treatment, something like 30mins every time. It felt thorough, and hurt more. I got little pimply puss things, but it felt like it was going a good job.

The second place - the opposite. Sessions were quick, no more than 10mins for full back and shoulders. It never left me with the puss, or soreness. It felt weak and too quick for my liking.

So I managed to get a couple of snaps of the display on the GentleLase machine from the second clinic.

Wondering if they were doing a good job or not?

I’m of Mediterranean heritage, IV skin type describes me best. But by back and shoulders are not tanned when I go for sessions, and the hair is dark brown/black, not too thick.

Honestly I’m surprised they are using an Alex on you with your skin colour, though if your skin on these areas is pale it might be okay. I am a type 4 and get my underarms and brazillian region on Alex and the area NEVER sees light. The settings seem low for an Alex plus combined with the amount of time they spent on you, it seems dodgy.

Go with your gut instinct
