Hello everybody,
I’ve been getting electrolysis on my face and lower abdomen for 11 weeks now. In addition, I had four one hour treatments in December, but had to stop for a few months.
My ultimate goal is to be completely hair free, but I’m starting with my face because I have many (more than normal by any standard) fine, very long, dense hairs.
I’ve read many posts that state a full clearance is needed. I have not yet had a full clearance, or anything close. I go once a week, for an hour and a half. My electrologist usually works on my face for a little over an hour, and does 15 minutes or so on my lower abdomen. With my face she started up by my sideburns, and is now working her way down my cheeks to my jawline, and does a few hairs (between 8-10 each side) on my upper lip. So far, I’ve had probably a little over of 11 hours of treatment on my face since March. I see a DEFINITE REDUCTION, however, nothing close to a clearance. She hasn’t even touched my chin, lower lip area, or neck.
I’ve also read on these forums that facial hair can be up to a 100 hour job. If that is the case, I would consider myself to be a tenth of the way done, and I would say that’s probably correct. Aren’t there an immense about of hairs on a woman’s face? Close to 100,000? My guess would be that she removes between 500-700 hairs per hour…
I’m just confused, I’d love for this process to be quicker, but if it’s not possible, then I completely understand and I can definitely be patient to see results. I am not able to tell if the hairs she has already treated are returning because there is still so much hair on my face, but I really don’t think they are. The tiny areas that she has cleared on my upper lip are staying gone.
Another question about upper lip area, are the hairs that are basically connected to the lip able to be treated as well? She always skips those, and I’m not sure if they’re not long enough, or if she just isn’t going to treat them.
Thanks ya’ll,
Sammy
