Most of this hair looks relatively fine to me and a lot of seems relatively light in color. Can you take a photo up close?
I think electrolysis will be necessarily for most of it.

honestly mate, if i had that amount of hair on my chest & abdomen i would be over the moon, if i have that amount of hair on my chest & abdomen even after having treatments, hell, i would still be over the moon!
I don’t think you should get laser based on that photo. It’s light-ish hair, and there’s not tons of it, so I would just go for electrolysis. It will take a little longer, but less risky and you will need it anyway after laser since most of that hair won’t be killed. Might as well just start the electrolysis now in your case.
Thanks for the replies. is it possible for you to say approx how much would a 50-80% reduction in my chest and stomach hair cost me in a clinic in usa?
And how many treatments would I need? How big of an area do they treat each session?
I read that waxing can damage the hair follicles so it is harder to get rid of it with electrolysis. So should I stay away from sugaring or waxing if I wanna get electrolysis?
Cost for electrolysis? This is too hard for us to estimate. You can attempt. Average electrologist removes 5-10 hairs per minute. You can estimate the number of hairs you have to remove. Count them in one spot and multiply. Then assume that what you see is only about 30% of all the hair you have.
Once you get a clearance, you come in for touchups for about 12 months. Then you’re done.
Yes, over time, waxing can make the hair stronger and more resistent to electrolysis. It shouldn’t be a huge deal if you do it temporarily.
On a side note, I also think it would be crazy to spend all that money to remove the hair that you have. You have very little normal looking hair that looks like it’s super easy to just shave as well or wax whenever you want to once in a while.
Yes, well the problem is that I had bad experiences with waxing, and especially epilating.
I got a lot of acne and ingrown hair on my chest and stomach. Below the belly button I still have some pimples, even though its 4-5 months since I last epilated.
I have ordered a sugaring kit now, and I will try it to see how my skin reacts to that.
Another thing is that professional waxing here in norway is about as expensive as laser hair removal abroad…
If done properly, waxing shouldn’t cause any side effects. I’d recommend against epilating. Lots of ingrown hair issues from that and distorted follicles.
As for sugaring, if you use it like wax, I’ve found I get as many ingrowns etc, but using it properly like sugar paste I had less ingrowns.
Ok, I’m in Orlando, FL for a year now. I’m still considering if I should go for laser or electrolysis.
Does anybody know of a good place to do one of those? Preferrably close to Little lake Bryan, but if it is a better place a bit further away, I am willing to go there for treatment.
For coarse dense dark hair, you should go for laser. Once you remove those hairs, you can decide whether you’re happy or want to remove the remaining finer and light-colored hair with electrolysis.
