Well definitely didn’t do it right then lol. The electrologist I saw the other day had a 5% lidocaine (I “think” it was LMX5) and said she would do something with that and plastic wrap. Overall it wasn’t that painful, so maybe the topical will be enough. That “Benzocaine 20%/Lldocaine 8%/Tetracaine 4%” sounded so powerful though!
From a limited survey of clients who’d tried both, Vicodin and Emla/LMX, the creams worked better.
Alrighty, no Vicodin then. I’ll save it for when I accidentally injure myself doing something stupid.
Is the EMLA/LMX better than the “Benzocaine 20%/Lldocaine 8%/Tetracaine 4%” compound? I’ve only heard of 2 electrologists suggesting me to get that mixture, 1 suggested the 13%/13% lidocaine/prilocaine with Dr. Numb, and others suggest Emla/LMX.
Someone should conduct a double-blind study, lol. EMLA/LMX are formulated, made, and have been tested for this, so I would go with them. But I would be curious to experiment with different compounds to compare them. I remember reading online reviews for Emla vs LMX. Maybe, you can google up something that compares them to “BLT”
the problem is these potions will work differently on different people. Some will get better numbing from OTC LMX-4, over LMX-5, and some even get better with an LMX over Rx only EMLA. I even had a client who took a 4 hour shot and lost numbing in 30 minutes. Everyone’s body is different, and what we do to our bodies is a whole other variable factor. You hopped up on caffeine is a whole other issue than you with good eating habits and some well placed servings of sunflower seeds and cashews.
