do u think the eczema i got and my laser treatement could be somehow connected?
I would send a message to SSLHR and see if he’s experienced this at his clinics.
I understand now what u mean when u say that one needs to wait way longer than 6 weeks to see what has acctually been done.
I had my teratement on 25 JUly…
Right after the teratement it all looked smooth except for the few areas that were missed. I could say they were missed beacuse right next day i coudl see the stubble.
Afetr 3.5 weeks most hairs are gone
anotehr 2 weeks and a lot of pappesrpost are gone…
7 weeks afeter treatement here is what i can report:
lower legs- back area 98% gone
- front area 90% gone
Upper legs- front area-95% gone
- inner tights 60%gone
- back area -50% gone
Bikini?? huh… that is frusturating story…
I noticed that doctor made a bigger distance from my skin when treating that area. NO spacer was touching my skin. SSihr explaind me that this means that the amount of energy i received was lower than what laser was set for.
I had a lot of missed spots. Beside missed spots i have a lot of hairs which continued to grow but finer…( those are not new hairs growing i know that for sure)It is easy to tell which were missed and which were effected but not killed cause they used to be very coars and now i would say they are normal…I have a landing line (that i left) and those hairs are considearbly courser …
so only about 20% is gone on that area.
I am so dissapointed about it
I have been looking for a clinic with gentle lase cause i have found out ( thanks to this forum) that this is the best option for me. It was not easy. I was so optimistic when i learned on this forum i would be a good candidate for laser. considering my pale skin and dark hair i was hoping to get up to 95% reduction on my bikini…now i am just so angry…
It is not the worst thing not to get any results. i belive it is even worse when u get results like this. It could have made my hairs too fine to be treated effectfully next time…
- is it better to have tretaemnet jsut b4 my period or after?
- any difference pain wise?
it sounds like you’ve only had one treatment and it went well on all the other areas. so i think you’re worried prematurely. hair removal is a process and will take 8 treatments or so on each area. since you’re getting results on your other areas, just talk to your clinic and make sure they use higher settings on your bikini as well next time so that you get similarly good results there.
it’s best to avoid getting treatments the few days before your period and during your period. those times are more painful as you are more sensitive.
- anybody heard of laser caused contact dermatitis?
- i have pale skin and some freckles? is there a risk laser could burn my freckles? Is there a greater risk to burn my skin? Anybody experience with that?
your freckles may get lighter since laser is attracted to pigment.
It has been exactly 11 weeks since my first treatement… some areas ( mostly the ones on which i didnt experience great shedding) are quite hairy now. Aprat from that… i do have some regrowth in general, BUT it is nothing comparing to what i had b4 my first treatement.
-What i am not sure is whether i should expect to become hairy as i was b4 1 treatemnt b4 i sign up for another one…
I believe i read somewhere on this forum that they should all come back. Only after 3 treatements, after we catch all hair cycles i will see the real reduction… true??
- how long should one wait b4 exposing treated areas to the sun after LHR to be save… a month?
-
at this point, it’s time for another treatment as the hair in the next cycle is there.
-
yes, you will start seeing less and less hair come in after 3rd treatment especially
-
you should not tan throughout your treatments as you should be as light as possible during all of your treatments
i am kind of worried that many hairs that didnt shed after first visit are going to start shedding on their own now and the new ones that are growing are still too short and too fine to treat.
Ah, what to do?
( i have maybe 30 % regrowth on my lower legs and those hairs are coarse and dark BUT on my upper legs, hairs are dense as they were but finer. They are becoming darker every week. At least i have that impression)…
is it ok to wait 4 months b4 second lhr on legs and bikini??? Did i make a mistake cause i waited that long??
There is no problem with “waiting too long” when using laser. You are fine. You can get a treatment now. I’m spacing my legs more than 4 months apart right now just to experiment. My last treatment was in July and I’m not going to be able to get another one until late December or in January.
i am going to make an appointement for next week …
I wont let them use less than 14 j on 18… ( i will try to make them use 18 mm)…Is it to much from me to ask them not to treat me with less than that??
I have some pics of misspots that i took so i will take those pics to show…
I was thinking about splitting the treatement in 2 days. doing lower legs fisrt and next day upper and bikini… When it is less to treat they might do the job thoroughly.
-What do u think?
-any other suggestion? anything else i should do or ask? advise me now b4 it is too late…
your idea sounds good. don’t worry too much and go for it. those settings you’re planning on are good.
Hi,
SO, i end up waiting 20 weeks for a second treatment beacuse the clinic was booked.
Today i went to get my bikini area and upper legs done.
alexandrite genlelase by candela was used.
Settings for bikini; 12mm 30J
settings for upper legs: 18mm 18J
It took about and hour 15, 20 minutes.
- Is this normaly long enough?
DOctor wanted to use smaller spot size for bikini cause he always does that as he said. He also made it clear that it is powerfull enough.
-What do u think? sslhr, lagirl?
I wasnt happy with that idea but,I will have to wait and see how shedding goes.
I have another appointment for lower legs next week.
till than
I don’t see any reason to treat bikini at 12mm. I would prefer a higher spot size next time. Let us know how shedding goes. Settings for legs are good. Yes, that’s probably a good amount of time spent on the treatment.
hm… i talked about settings he is plannig to use and i told him i want to be treated with 18 mmm spot size.
He stared with bikini and i asked him which setings he used; when he said 12mm 30J i belive i got hot flush… I finnaly convinced him to use 18 mm 18 J for legs.
He explained that 12mm 30 J is even more effective than what i was suggesting to be used…and so on…
I wonder now if those setting are effetcive at all.
Should i still expect shedding period and hairless pariod?
what do u think?
I will report back when shedding occurs
Yes, do expect it. Let us know how it goes.
Lower legs done
18mm,18J
it took a bit longer than an hour
Update!
it has been about 3, 4 weeks since my second treatment…
my legs were smooth right after the treatment same like the last time.
First day after treatment my legs looked as they were waxed (red dots and smooth) After few more days i noticed black dots which are mostly gone by now and the rest i expect to shed in next few weeks. On my legs i didnt have hairs that look as they are growing and then falling out… only maybe 4 %…all the rest is smooth since i got out of the clinic. instant shedding! lol
On the other hand , on my bikini, hairs looked as they were still growing after treatment, but they have shed by now.
AT the moment only some 5 % of the hair are acctually visible on the surface and they look as they are still growing. Probably missed…
all in all… so far… all seems pretty good
sounds like everything is on track. thanks for keeping up this thread!
I realize that women face and male shoulders might be tricky to laser…
what about females bum? Anybody heard of laser caused induced hair growth on female`s bum?
I am thinking about having my bottocks lasered. Hair is not coarse but it is dark. I belive we would use max settings…
I will try to post a pic… but it might be hard to take a good one…
How common is it to have laser treatment on females bottocks?
Should i risk it? comments are welcome…
