Redness is normal as long as it goes away. 12J is the max fluence on this machine, so you’re already there.
However, pulse width is adjustable on this machine, the smallest being 30ms.
i am not really qualified to say as i had only 2 treatments with the duet so did not see the course through. but, my experience was, i was bare after treatment for some weeks, and when in that cycle again, the area was bare. this lasted for about a year, now you can barely tell i had anything done. on my underarms, you see almost no difference, and ‘down south’ the hair stays rather short, in any cycle, which i find a bit weird, but okay, and is a bit thinner, but came back, with a few small thin patches here and there.
Duet should get you good results if they’re using good settings and technique. If you’re not seeing all hair shed within 3 weeks, something is not being done correctly. Bikini and underarms are the easiest to treat.
You can draw a line with a white pencil.
i always draw a line, but they don’t stick to it and miss loads… pay peanuts, get monkeys. sigh~~
Just finished my forth treatment with the DUET. I will be getting total of 5 sessions on the stomach chest, upper arms and 7 sessions on the back and neck. So far I am impressed by lack of pain and effectiveness. I am on the highest setting 15. She offered to use a double pulse without suction, but the pain went up considerably, and so far I am getting a good result.
So nice not having numbing cream and gel. She is very thorough and hits my entire tee shirt area in 60min. This used to take hours with the old lightsheer. At 199 per visit I feel blessed.
Agreed, DUET is a laser BTW.
Hello,
I have had my back and shoulders treated with the lightsheer duet several times. Only on the last one were the higher settings of fluence 12 joules and pulse width custom 61 ms used. The results have been better but quite some hair has grown back (overall reduction 50-60%).
I have read that they used a fluence of 15 for your treatment, but the machine they used in my case could only go up to 12. Is it more effective if the pulse is reduced, ie to 30 ms (somebody posted this was the minimal pulse width). I’m having a new treatment in about a month and would be very glad if you could inform me before that.
