The Fischer Pro-Therm will do a timing of one tenth of a second easily. What you would have a problem finding is the one tenth of a unit intensity setting. It is a stereo knob machine. It is workable, just not something you can do exact measurements and duplicate them with total certainty.
A serious Newbie would buy a blend machine, because that would allow one to use any of the 3 types of electrolysis as they become accustomed to how to work them. If one knows how to work the settings on a Blend machine, one can choose galvanic only, thermolysis only, or do a regular blend treatment, or even a blend treatment that is heavy on the galvanic, or heavy on the thermolysis.
The reason I say start with Galvanic is that it is least likely to result in scarring for the uneducated. Thermolysis is the most likely to scar if you don’t know what you are doing. A first time thermolysis user who ramps up the setting is going to blow a hole in their skin, and possibly get the probe/needle stuck in their flesh!
Although a One Touch is cheap, the probes and probe holder, how we say…SUCK! Most people only use them once or twice before they banish them to the junk drawer.
At least if one buys a used pro machine, most newer models have a built in automatic insertion delay, and one can resell it if one abandons the notion of home electrolysis. It would be unethical to resell a one touch, due to the inability to sterilize the business ends of the machine.
