Fischer TS-1 Pr-Therm - Electrolysis equipment

A.R. Hinkel Electrolysis Epilator Set

I am considering buying a sterex unit (galvanic) complete with accessories. How effective are they? All responses will be appreciated.

It’s not the best, most updated thing in the world, but it is a real electrolysis machine, made by a trusted company, with service for the units after the sale. It is a good basic unit.

This guy has been trying to sell this for quite a while and I while I see it repeatedly posted here, I don’t see many comments on its suitability or pros and cons.

I’m a new DIY’er and am considering buying it, but really don’t know much yet and don’t know how to choose. I saw in another post in this forum that this unit was described as “manual.” Would that be alright for a beginner? Is something that gives you an “automatic” choice better?

It seems that this unit can also do the 3 modes, is that right?

Can anyone think of a reason why a beginner shouldn’t buy it? Maybe there are less expensive ones that would be a better choice? I don’t want to limit myself and then have to buy another unit later, but I don’t want to spend a huge amount of money on something that isn’t a good choice…

thanks!

The reason this guy can’t sell this machine has nothing to do with its fitness for use. He has consistently tried to sell it for too high a price, that’s all.

Although it is possible his mother paid $4,000 when she bought it (I don’t think so, it wasn’t until recently that any epilator was legitimately listed at more than $2,000) I can tell you that this very model can be purchased brand new from the company today for $1945.00US plus tax and shipping.

Most pro’s looking to buy something like this new would start the bidding at 40% of original value, and this is the first time this product has been listed at a no reserve auction that included a price that would be 40% of the cost to buy it new. Those with computer brains already know that 40% of $1945.00 is $778.00 Of course, that price doesn’t consider the extras they are throwing in. If I were bidding on this package, I would not bid over $850.00

It is a good machine, it is just having a hard time selling because they are out pricing themselves when a computerized unit can be had for the same price. Had they just opened the bidding at $300 and let people bid on it, they would have sold this months ago. They will never get over a thousand dollars for it though.

As for what it can do, it is a Blend Epilator, which by definition means it will do all three types of electrolysis. It even has two footpedals, so one can operate it by foot tapping, a real plus for the DIY electrologist. You can insert the probe and tap one foot for thermolysis, and the other for galvanic, or both together for blend. Keep in mind that if one won’t find and go to a great electrologist, I recommend DEO Electrolysis (Do Each Other Electrolysis) as it is safer than DIY.

Since it is manual, there are no presets, you have to figure out your own treatment settings. Since it uses stereo knobs, you have to guesstimate what those settings are, and you can’t exactly duplicate the settings in the future if you change to something else. (How do you reset a stereo knob to the exact .001th of a point?)
My advise is to wait till late, and be the first bidder with 5 minutes to go in the auction.

SEQUENTIUM 328 PROFESSIONAL EPILATOR/HAIR REMOVAL

Sequentium 328 Electrolysis Epilator Hair Removal

Pretty weird that there are two Sequentium 328’s at the same time.

Keep in mind that this thread is about legitimate machines, not whether they are a good value. Scroll through the recent history to check various machines’ pricing to get a feel for whether a given machine is a bargain.

You can buy a new Uni-Probe Autoblend for $900. You can buy a new Autoblend Lite (Thermolysis only) for $400 or so.

So with that the highly priced Hinkels and so on are no bargains.

Based on what I’ve seen, the patient buyer should expect to spend about $600 on a really good machine like the Sequentium or Apilus Jr.

FYI Item 4368136538 Sequentium 328 by suzanne0493 was purchased on ebay by this seller on 2/10/05 for $710.00 (item#4355479843) the seller pretty much copied the description on the original sale. Good Machine…seller???
