Legitimate electrolysis machines on Ebay

The instantron above is the ss-69 and is a thermolysis only machine.

I gotta say I am surprised that our DIY’ers have not snapped up this one! Silhouet Tone WITH BONO BOOK!

The Starting price is only $350 and includes the Bono Book for one to learn with. Really people! A pro machine and the text book for less than the cost of the machine. The retail price for this machine is currently close to $2,000

People are always asking us "How do I get a pro unit and instruction for less than $5,000 and here it is, with NO BIDS! Hopefully someone will snap this up in the next 24 hours before the ebayer figures that it should be tossed in the recycle box.

Looks like a thermolysis machine. Maybe James or another experienced electrologist can comment on the machine.

You are correct, it is a thermolysis only machine.

Dual current machines with stereo knobs would require at least 4 knobs to deliver automatic blend, or have the option of Galvanic, or Thermolysis alone. A manual blend machine would have two knobs for the intensity, and would rely on you timing how long you hold down the foot pedal for your timing. (can you tap out the same time signature on two foot pedals exactly the same way twice in one hour, let alone 500 times in one hour?)

That said, it is a workable machine for someone who has skill and would not be prone to overtreatment in thermolysis. I caution that it is more suited for “Do Each Other Electrolysis” rather than “DIY”, but I don’t believe anyone should be “Doing Themselves” <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

while answering another question on Ebay Electrolysis machines, I came across this little number for someone looking to Do-Each-Other.

Although I still hold to the point that the best case situation is that one go to a pro, and that the second best choice is to get the important electrolysis text books and a buddy who will study with you and trade work, I will help out here and post some things I found while on Ebay this week.

It’s the least I could do since DIY’r and so many others help Andrea and I out by answering questions here so that we don’t have to re-answer the same questions yet again.

eBay item 4343887358 (Ends Dec-19-04 13:49:46 PST) - Clareblend Miniblend Professional
This is a good pro unit that doesn, all three modalities. I suggest one start working in straight galvanic until one knows what one is doing and work into blend, and maybe later… MUCH LATER, you could try thermolysis.

eBay item 4344245645 (Ends Dec-20-04 14:53:57 PST) - Professional Electrolysis Epilator - needle type
And although I don’t know a single pro who would use this as anything other than a backup, or travel machine, it is a good pro style home unit that does Galvanic Blend and Thermolysis. It even comes with a box of probes.

Electrolysis NR!eBay item 4344156081 (Ends Dec-20-04 11:06:04 PST) - Professional Electrolysis Epilator
This is a reliable Instantron machine with molded travel case included! Just Keep In Mind It Is A THERMOLYSIS ONLY MACHINE. For use by skilled workers only.

eBay item 4343606875 (Ends Dec-18-04 09:41:39 PST) - Vintage Kree Electrolysis Machine 1975 Hair Removal Set
This 1975 Kree Thermolysis only Machine comes with a circle lamp and lamp stand. I gotta tell you, the lamp stand costs more then what this item currently is at bid for.

eBay item 4343653440 (Ends Dec-18-04 13:29:17 PST) - Professional Electrolysis Epilator - Thermolysis
Only the skilled should attempt thermolysis, but here is a good old unit that works, although it won’t be as comfortable as a modern computerized machine.

Ignore any of the other garbage listed, especially anything being sold by “Medicalequipmentbroker” or anything made by Vector, or TE, GHRS, IHRS, AHRS and so on.

In fact, if you look at Item #4344111656 you will see a deviously fashioned immitation of an electrolysis machine designed to look like a reliable machine made by the R.A. Fischer Company. Anyone who believed this were a Fischer would jump at the “Buy It Now” price and be really sore when they opened the box and found this junk. It is worth more as an Andy Whorholesque Homage to the Fischer than as anything you would actually want to use on your face.

Hmm, have I gotten the point across that I hate this kind of scammer?

I just purchased a product called Epil Pen needless hair removal system. Did anyone every try this?

Lots of people have tried it. No one has ever removed hair with it. Get your money back if you can.

Electrolysis Equipment *machine, table, lamp,sterilizer

This one might take some finagling with the seller - see the Q&A at the bottom - but Clareblend is one of the legitimate vendors.

Instantron Tronco 4

I think this system was mentioned earlier by James. Probably not an ideal system for do-it-yourselfers, but certainly legitimate.

The Hoffman is an older Thermolysis Model. I hardly recommend it for a do it yourselfer, or a Do Each Other Electrologist either.

One can get a newer easier machine for as much money.

I would only trust a seasoned pro with this older unit.

I noted that it is sold “AS IS” and as such, I should point out that one can still get service from places like Berkowits, Mary Evangelista, or via Texas Elec. Supply, but the company that made these is long out of business.

At $475, a high-ish starting point for a thermolysis only epilator.
Berkowits epilator

Thermolysis (not flash) is hard to recommend for a do-it-yourselfer - for the time involved, why not do blend instead? - but this would be better than straight galvanic.

Then again, you can buy a new thermolysis machine for $300.

How 'bout this one: Proteus EP-200 . It sure looks legitimate.

Also, what was the brand name, and any other specific title details, for eBay item 4344245645. It sounds perfect for a diy beginner like myself.

I’m impressed - the Proteus machine hasn’t shown up in my Ebay favorites search yet!

I believe it’s a thermolysis only machine. It will work - it’s better than a galvanic only machine such as the One Touch - but you can buy a new one (Uni-Probe) for $300.

So you think that the Vintage Kree Electrolysis Machine set is worth buying only for the extras? And then we sould find a separate galvanic & blend machine?
