Laser vs. Electrolysis? (Pics included)

Please take after photos of your chest and stomach area after your treatment. I have a similar hair texture as you and, a year after I had my shoulders and upper back cleared, I am actually considering doing my stomach and chest (despite always saying it would be too painful to do).

So I’m keen to see what other people’s experience is like… How many days after the laser does one’s chest and stomach fade from red… What the heck happens around the nipple area (where wouldn’t the red pigment get burned?), etc.

Your experience will be useful. Thanks!

Redness usually doesn’t last more than a day. Sometimes dots could remain for up to 3 days, but that should be it with a normal treatment.

Any area that you don’t want treated should be covered up with something white.

Thanks LAGirl. But about the nipple area, since there are some follicles that are just-inside the red pigment, does the practitioner have to skip that area? Or reduce the power, or?

Honestly, WillBfree, I think you should just do electrolysis that close to the nipple especially if your hair is on the dark part. If your nipples aren’t super dark, then theoretically you could maybe laser them in the same way they laser people with medium-dark skin tones, but why risk it? It’s such a small area, it won’t cost much to just switch to a couple sessions of electrolysis here.

You’ll need electrolysis on the actual nipple area. Laser can only be used on pale skin.

Good to know. Thanks!
