How does this sound?

So, 4th consultation down. Most everything was standard. They had a good price. $2000 for 6 treatments chest + abdomen/arms/shoulders. That’s about 500 less than I had been quoted elsewhere.

But there was one strange thing. They have a Cynosure Apogee Elite, and for cooling they use ultrasound gel and a separate machine to keep the skin cool. Is this…okay? I’d been to other places with Elites and they used nothing of the sort. In fact, I thought no one used ultrasound gel anymore with the newest lasers.

Can any of our laser experts speak to this?

I was treated with Elite in the past, and they didn’t use any kind of gel.

Did the laser head touch the skin during the pulse? I guess not. Mine did.

Gel is commonly used. It’s cooling and soothing and for lasers that have to glide, i.e. CoolGlide, it makes the gliding smoother. It’s a personal choice for the laser operator.

On second thought,… I am not pretty sure if they used the gel or not. You are right, without gel the gliding would be such irritating.
